Alex Smith Traded to Chiefs

Well, it looks like the deal is done.

Jay Glazer @JayGlazer
49ers have completed a trade with the Chiefs for Alex Smith, tho can't be official til March 12. Chiefs really made a commitment to Smith

Jay Glazer @JayGlazer
Deal has been agreed upon between Chiefs and 49ers. Compensation unclear but I'm told again Chiefs have made a clear commitment to Smith.

I'm sick of compromising. A. Smith is a band-aid. I don't give a shit what his numbers were last season.

Drafting and grooming a QB is how you get franchise talent. I'm supposed to get excited about a 29-year old QB with a history of concussions? We've been sold that story before. Not buying it this time.

Great we have another QB that the only way we can win is to have a #1 type of defense, #1 type of running attack along with one of the best Olines in the game. Yeehaaa.

The Chiefs will bring in a low cost veteran as a backup. I really don't see them drafting a QB in third, because they lost that 2nd round pick with the trade.

People need to start accepting the reality that Alex Smith is our unquestioned starter, at least for the 2013 season. And probably longer.

I don't care if the Chiefs "get back to winning" 8, 9, 10, games a season. It will all be meaningless because they won't be able to make the next step with Smith. Why is that so ****ing hard for you Alex Smith knob-slobbering fools to realize?
Your time line is wrong here bro:

Gave alex playbook
Drafted Kap
Signed alex

Smith won 13 for the 9ers, but I guess the chiefs will never be able to put a team together good enough to eleviate smith to 13 wins and the NFL championship game.

I don't see how sucking helps a team win superbowls? High draft picks are the fools gold of people that have a losing mentality.

If you can develop those things, think of how smooth the transition to a young talented player could be? You don't think Reid can develop a QB, or get the most out of one????

You guys really give Chiefs fans a bad rap. Grow up. I've never seen a more classless group of people. You guys are not even worth my time. I came here to talk football and talk about a player that was on my favorite team for 8 years. You guys don't even deserve to have a winning team with fans that act this juvenile.

You have your wish. I'm done here. Until 2014 when you guys get humiliated in SF. Good luck to your team in 2013. Stay positive.

No, the franchise doesn't deserve fans who've put up with retread loser cast-off QBs for the entirety of it's existence.

And Cassel won 11 games for the Patriots, so ****ing what?

Unfotunately, 90% of Super Bowl winning QB's are drafted with a high pick in the first round, moron.

Hey dude. The only way to draft a Manning, Luck or someone like that anymore is with the first pick in the draft. You can get that by giving up 3 to 5 years of 1st rounders or you can lose a lot of games to get that kind of player. Without that kind of player we will never win anything of any meaning.

I really dont get it. I dont. how they cant see that Alex Smith as the helm keeper for a year or two, with andy reid grooming his replacement, is an upgrade over taking geno smith who clearly andy reid has deemed doesnt fit him, or is just not that good. If they had not traded for alex smith, drafted geno smith, geno smith flops, then andy reid is a moron, and should fist his grandmother. lol. no win here apparently.
