If you want to make a dumpster fire of a season worse, then go ahead & overpay for Gomez. This team is done with him, this team is done without him. I don't see the point of trading anything of value for him. Let the Mets make that mistake.
A silver lining however: looking forward to Weaver going today, can't wait to get a glimpse of him.

Weaver looks good for the long term. Made one mistake, worked out of a jam, walked batters which is unusual for him.

Cardinals have had 12 batters come up. 9 strikeouts. Yadi with 2 hits of the 12 batters.

Reyes comes in for the 5th.
