HBO greenlights A Game of Thrones pilot! (spoilers)

Huge, Huge News

HBO has given the production order.

They will be filming the pilot episode of A GAME OF THRONES.

It's just the pilot so far. They'll need to see that before they decide whether to proceed with a full season's episodes. So let's all hope the pilot will kick serious ass.

It should. David Benioff and Dan Weiss did a terrific job with the script. And yes, all of you can relax, it's very faithful. Dan and David will be the executive producers for the pilot and (we hope) the eventual series.

More details when I have 'em. The news is very fresh. HBO just issued their own press release, which should be up on their website soon, if it's not there already.

Winter is coming to HBO. Hot damn.

As much as I hate Jaime RIGHT NOW and Cersei, I can't help but feel good for, Nickolai and Lena. I loved New Amsterdam much in the way many loved Firefly, and I felt bad about Lena going from big screen bombshell in 300 to a TV project with the stink of failure all over it.

Also, went through the entire episode of the most recent White Collar thinking 'that looks a lot like it could Lena's sister.

She was unbelievably cute in that White Collar episode. I'm sure it was a one-off, but it would be nice to see her again.

Pivoting off the panel, what was the moment that dragged you 'all in?'

For me, it was Drago's tirade after the assassination attempt on Daenerys, watching that my sole thought was 'the Chiefs need a linebacker with that fire when the playoffs come around' with a slight coda of 'the guy could totally kick Ray Lewis' ass.'

For me, even knowing it was going to happen, it was Jamie tossing Bran. That's when the show really kind of clicked into 'oh crap, I'm really watching this on TV".

Actually, I am a dumbass. I finished Feast, was going to start Dance today,but the day got away from me, and I spent too much of my quiet evening time on the stupid internet instead of my Kindle LOL.

You will enjoy Feast, especially if you like the political angles of the story, they get a lot of emphasis in this book.

My wife is reading Storm now. She loved the first two books (and the first season of the show). But she's frustrated as shit with Storm. She can't understand why everyone is making such stupid decisions. It's pissing her off.
