Off Season Lets Talk Guns

Been a while since we had a guns n' ammo discussion.

Some of you are AR shooters Im sure. Im looking at a Colt 6920. Will be my first AR. Picked up a Glock this fall and really enjoy shooting it. Any feedback on that weapon?

Anyone else been in a buy/sell/trade mood with hardware?

I wonder what the Kimber 10mm shoots like. I imagine there 9mm are rated for the +p+ ammo too?

Looks pretty nice. I've never looked on Amazon for anything firearm related. I guess I better start looking.

I am comparing it to something like that.

So have you gotten out to the range with this yet? How are you liking it?

Haven't yet. Weather's been shitty, so I've been mainly playing with my other new toy (new computer).

Does anyone have experience with the FAL type rifle? Specifically, this one - http://www.atlanticfirearms.com/storeproduct482.aspx

It's much cheaper than the M1A Socom I want.

I slapped a Nikon Monarch 12x on my RR 16" AR-15/M4 just for shits and giggles, and was knocking down prarie dog targets at 250. I

Just got back from the farm today, and I shot 300 and 400 yard range at 18" disc targets.

Pretty amazing. Once I figured out the BDC I was drilling the targets, even with rapid follow-up shots. Groups were not super tight, at best they were around 3-5", and rapid fire was within a foot.

I love my rifle.

One thing though, when I mounted the scope, the front sight is DIRECTLY in the scope path, yet when I look through the scope, no sight is to be found. Can someone explain this to me?

I have shot many & even owned one for a short time.
The M1A is inherently more accurate, but not by much.
Solid 500 yard performer. The adjustable gas block puts it over the top in my book.

I cant explain it,but if you turn your scope down to 1X you should be able to see shadows from your front sight post. Past 3 or 4X its just to close to your glass & will blur out. Your front post can mess with the light that a scope needs to function properly. Some guys piss & wine about this, but it has never bothered me. I set my scopes about 4-1/2 & leave them there.

I glad I'm not insane. I do notice when I hold the scope away from my face about a foot the sight can barely been seen at 5x.

I am just tickled to death that something that I thought would obviously fail is just amazing. I can literally quick aim while free standing, both eyes open and drill bowling pins at 100 just like I was using an EoTech.

I was THIS close to buying at least a 20" bull upper for long range shooting, but the 16" is doing just fine for 400 yards.

Saved me some cash to put toward my AR-10 and 32x scope.
