Alden wants to give him more than 5 years with a buyout clause? I have 0 doubt now that Alden is trying to become the next AD at Miami U.

The BoC can fire the man responsible for the hiring.

As far as I'm concerned, that means they're absolutely tasked with hiring the head coach.

But it's pretty apparent that most of the guys on that board aren't going to have the chops or the stones to really test Alden on this so there's no way he loses his head tonight.

Herm's our new coach, might as well accept it.

- frank likes to run his offense from the inside out, ideally. the team shoots a lot of threes (especially when we had jack mcclinton) but if you look at ken pom’s individual offensive ratings in the ACC you’ll notice that the #2 rated player in the whole conference is our center, and he was fed the ball a lot (when he was on the court, his usage rate is low cuz of foul problems). i think the team has been guard oriented because of necessity, but frank always made it a point to throw the ball inside, especially early and especially early in road games.

Here's the best way I can describe this - stolen from a Miami blog:

There have been other debacles like this too and I don't want to hear we have a "young team" when we have 4 seniors including starters Dews, McGowan and Collins. The year started against a cupcake schedule to allow this team to form a chemistry and it worked as the Canes went 15-1 to start the year and even briefly showed in the top 20. The team looked balanced but still had a high number of turnovers reflecting Haith's overly aggressive offensive style. Then ACC play kicked into gear and that's when the pain began and here we are with 2 games left Miami has 4 ACC wins and is tied for last place. Hardly what anyone would call progress.
