I broke it down and the facts prove it.
You take the 12 seasons that Terry played and compare them the the 1st twelve that eldonk played and Terry's stats kill him. You can then add the two super bowl wins that eldonk got in his 15th and 16 season and still come up short. |

You can't compare stats from two entirely different situations.

Terry Bradshaw had the best collection of talent around him of time of any QB in NFL history (in relation to their peers). The late 80's Montana teams could stake a claim, but only for a few years. The 70's Steelers were absolutely incredible. FFS, Bradshaw made all of three pro-bowls. While it's not dispositive, it says a ton about how he was viewed in relation to his peers (Elway, on the other hand, made 9 and played in an era with arguably the deepest collection of elite QB talent in history). Terry Bradshaw is closer to Steve McNair than he is to John Elway.

I don't think you can use the pro bowl as a legit measure of how good someone is.
Maybe we could if it was only voted on by the nfl coaches. |

However, it's important to note that the Steelers were the most popular team in the AFC during Bradshaw's era. If anything, Bradshaw would've gotten an additional benefit by the pro-bowl selection process. Better still, unlike any raw statistical comparison, it considers surrounding talent and respective eras. A brick doesn't need to be a wall. The Pro-Bowl disparity isn't the end of the discussion, it's just another brick in a very VERY large wall. Elway is a far better QB than Bradshaw was. Ultimately I think I've probably put too much effort into defending this point - nobody with an ounce of objectivity would ever believe otherwise.

The stats of both players over the first 156 games they played in say that Bradshaw was better.
Elway had 450 yards more rushing but Terry scored more points and had less fumbles. Edge to Bradshaw. |

Elway tossed the rock a thousand more times that Terry did, but had less touchdowns.
Plus he had more than 500 incompletions. |

it considers surrounding talent and respective eras.
That brings up the myth that Elway carried the teams the three Super Bowl losses. He didn't. He had a top ten defense in each season. I contend that since the offense was rankled 15th in two of the seasons that they carried him. |

Terry Bradshaw is the guy who benefited from being on great teams. John Elway is the guy who was his team.
I'm sure throwing to Vance Johnson and those other scrubs the 3 amigo's compares to the guys Bradshaw had. When Elway was finally given other talent they won. Anyone with a pair of eyes knows this, arguing it just makes you look like a reerun that doesn't like Elway because he played for Denver. |

Peyton Manning is by far, the greatest ever.
Peyton and Walsh would have completely owned the 80's and 90's. Hell, Bill Walsh may even still be alive to win more Super Bowls. |
