Do you return your shopping cart?

Last night at the grocery store I see a lady leave her shopping cart in the middle of the parking lot. The worst part about it is that there was literally 1 spot between her car and the cart corral. I was telling a guy at work this and he mentioned that he read that people who were successful in life return their carts. I looked for this article and nothing I found seems to be based on any data.

I figured that Chiefsplanet could provide some data.

I think their system is a pain in the butt. **** Aldi on having to go ALL the way back for a stinkin' quarter—one that has lost most of it's value being worth perhaps 4 cents. Are people that desperate for that kinda' money?

Costco's a bit different, as they have guys that look for and return carts, even though there's a Cart bin, but the with the big orange carts, I always return them to the front because they could damage cars pretty easily.
Costo's cart bins, here are also spaced too far apart for me to bother and they don't go all the way to the end of the lot either. Their lot here is just HUUUUGE! I ain't walkin' that far. ( even these super stores are just too HUGE to go back if you forgot something)

I usually can't lift all my stuff into my car, so I try to hail down the guy returning carts in the lot to lift my groceries in and he usually takes the cart with him when done.

I think Aldi is on the rise. We had a new one open over the summer and it's one of the nicest grocery stores I've been in, including the Mariano stores around here that have baby grand piano players when you walk in. It's actually the retail anchor of a high end apartment building.

Has anyone ever stolen a grocery cart to use for a carriage?

Temporarily I mean, not real theft but just to borrow.

Jesus. Seriously?

Then when you get home you just leave all that shit in the car? Have the cart guy take it out next time and throw it away?

That's much appreciated. But really just in the corral is the only necessary thing asked by the workers.

I do leave that heavy case of bottled water in the car yes. That is until the SO comes over. It works.

On the food, they put enough in one of those boxes which makes it heavy and I prefer to keep it all together in one of those. Then I take them out individually when I get home. If no one is in the lot, then I do that but it's a pain in the butt and it takes longer....so I ask for help. Nothing wrong with asking for help and they're usually very willing. In fact sometimes another person will come over and offer to help when they see me straining. That happens always, when I am trying to lift a case of water at Costco. Those things are big and heavy.

I never been good at lifting weight. Could never even do a push-up or climb ropes in school gym—and I am have never been fat and was only 105 lbs back then.
