Never change Pete. If Mahomes doesn't throw 2 picks at the end, the Rams would end up allowing 58. And not to mention 14 of the points we allowed were because of Mahomes pick 6 and sack strip.

Never change Pete. Never change.

But there we were with less than two minutes left with a lead....all the defense had to do was get one stop.

You are right...with that many penalties and turnovers there was no reason for this game to be even close.... that is why when we had the opportunity to close it out, the defense has to be able to that.

That is what championship teams do...they win some games they shouldn't and they beat the teams they are supposed too. NE has done it with Brady for almost 20 years now.

The fact that the game was this close is encouraging. Clean up the ****ing penalties during the bye week and that will go a long way towards success.

Its telling after the 2nd fumble Mahomes took the sack instead of trying to make a play and causing another fumble. Smith got alot of shit for that by idiots like Clay and Pete but that's the difference between and inexperienced QB and a Veteran. Mahomes does that just once more and we win.

Cant turn it over 5 times and expect to win. Especially on the road.

Okay. I put blame on both sides of the ball too. But football often boils down to key situations, and the defense shits the bed far too often when it gets in those situations.

The offense failed tonight in those situations too, especially at the end. Mahomes will learn from it and improve. Hopefully Morris and LDT will back soon to help out the o-line as well.

Team as a whole has to cut down on penalties. The refs did suck, but the Chiefs are way too undisciplined in that regard.

Plenty of work to do all round. Season is far from done.

One of those picks was caused by the defense hitting him as he threw.

Not disagreeing with any of that. Mahomes hopefully learned a valuable lesson about hanging onto the football tonight.

Still, we had the lead with less than two minutes despite all of that. That is a reason to be optimistic about the future.

Sure plenty to be optimistic about. The defense certainly played a part in why we were ahead with 2 mins left.

And the other one? It's ok, you can admit that despite having the best defensive player in the league and a much more talented roster, Wade is as bad or worse than Sutton.

I don't care if they fire Sutton. I'm more interested in actually FIXING the defense and firing Sutton isn't going to do that. Therefore, firing him isn't high on my priority list.
Firing him this year won't fix the defense. Firing him next year, along with bringing in some talent and drafting well---I think that would.

I am just fired up after a loss....love talking football, and I am sure I will calm down tomorrow....but at the end of the year the whole defensive secondary needs to be revamped. I think the front seven has improved. We are getting more pressure on the qb. Improve the secondary and the run defense in the offseason, and things are good.

I just do not think Sutton is the guy to do that coaching wise.

See that's the disconnect. What can Sutton do about a whole secondary that needs to be revamped? He has shown that when given talented players, he gets the most out of them, so why not see what he can do when we actually get some talent on the back end?

Wade has certainly struggled more this year than in years past, that is for sure.

Given the talent on that side of the ball, I think criticizing him is fair game.

Rams fan have to be concerned about meeting the Saints in the playoffs, or even the Bears (did I just say that?). The Bears are not as consistent on offense, but they have shown flashes this year, and that defense could legitimately stop LA.

All of the Super Bowl contenders have major flaws. Welcome to the modern day NFL.

If you accept that the personnel on defense is just plain bad and Sutton is not the (main) problem, then you more or less have to accept that the team is deeply flawed and may not be equipped for a postseason run. Nobody wants to do that at this point, so we're looking for other explanations.

Parker is trash. Play Lucas.
Sorensen is SLOOOOWWWW.
Can we see some Tremon Smith at CB? Second fastest guy on the team, supposedly man-skills, and we have to watch Nelson and Scandrick get toasted all the time because they're not fast enough.
