He was just as bad the entire 4th Q as he was the previous three, with the exception of one throw.

The 40 yard pass to Sasser was just a jump ball where Bud out-competed the two DBs.

Mauk's one great pass was the laser he threw down the seam to Leftwich.

Aside from that, he was inept on the final drive as well. As soon as the drive started, the first down pass intended for Lee was wildly off target, as was the second down pass. They ran an option play on 3rd and 10 because no one had faith in Mauk. From there, we picked up the 4th on a PAP to Culkin that looked like it came sideways out of his hand. From there, they moved the ball with the run and one penalty.

Mauk was 1-3 for three yards on the last drive.

The last time I remember a Mizzou quarterback playing this poorly was Franklin's first half against KU in 2011, and he eventually turned it around in the second. It was a thoroughly atrocious performance.

He also threw a (reasonably) nice ball on the play where SC got flagged for PI. He was far from good, but he didn't turn it over, and he came up big when we needed it most. That isn't bad for a Sophomore who was clearly having a bad game on the road at South Carolina without two of his three top WRs.

Mauk was better last night than Franklin was in the Cotton Bowl. (Strange that we managed to win all three of the Kansas, Oklahoma State, and South Carolina games, now that I think about it.)

Well....I can tell you that Gamecock fans are still mumbling about the game to themselves. Stopped by the grocery store when I got back into town here and had my MU shirt on....no one was really a pain, but you can tell they are still stinging from the loss.
