I love how every year the kings keep rewritting the record books. They just do not give up no matter what the odds. Its refreshing to finally have a team that not only wants to win. But does everything in their power to do so.

That game was so intense, the beauty of overtime in the NHL is like the NFL it's sudden death, when the puck goes in that net its over, that's it. What an unbelievable series.

(shudder)
Most def., the Kings just grind and grind and made the most of their chances.

Some are upset about the noncall for slashing, but I think, sadly, the Hawks just came up short when they had a lead and the Kings kept their cool. Neither team should have anything to be ashamed of. The series was tremendous and OT in game 7 is a fitting conclusion, even if my team came up with the short straw.

Though I'm not a fan of either team like you are, I agree. Any time you get to a Game 7 OT, it's pretty clear at that point that the two teams are extremely evenly matched. At that point, you might as well flip a coin to decide who wins. Nothing to hang your head about for either team, though it stings for the losers.

It's a slight concern because of the stakes, but a concern nonetheless. I'm a bit worried that the Kings have expended so much energy to get through these 3 series that they'll come out flat against the Rangers. Yesterday almost felt like the Stanley Cup Finals.

Right now, Lundquist is playing better than Quick and he could stand on his head for a few wins.

Ultimately I believe the Kings will win the series because they're better and deeper than NY, but this could be quite the battle.

And at this point, would anyone expect the Kings to do it any other way?

Eh, the Kings will just take a few games off to recover, then win 3 in a row to send it to another Game 7.

Lundquist is about the the only thing as an x factor I can see if the Rangers would win the cup, and he'd obviously win the Conn Smythe.

The problem for the Rangers is that sometimes a team with less talent can win a series by basically outhustling and outgritting the other team. They're not outhustling and outgritting LA. It's not like you can say, "Well they're better. Let's get out there and talk junk and do some face-washes and hit everything that moves and hope some of their guys are soft and the penalties shake out in our favor," because LA isn't afraid of that in the slightest.
The Kings are about as blue collar and tough a team as I've ever seen.

Outhustling isn't really the Rangers' thing, either (*cough*Rick Nash*cough*).

On the grinding end of things, this series has the potential of all of those Rangers/Caps playoff series, especially with these goaltenders. I think the Blackhawks would have brought out the Rangers' potential a bit more, forcing them to play at a higher pace, much like the last few games of the WCF... but, the Kings are fun to watch, too, so nothing lost there.... unless there was any possibility of 7 more Blackhawks/Kings games.

My neighbor (the guy who got us into the Kings) came over yesterday to tell me that he had tickets to Game 1 and 5. He's going with his wife tonight, but is leaving town for a grandkid's graduation the weekend of Game 5...said he had to check on a few people to see if they wanted to buy (which I encouraged him to do) but then said to keep my schedule open because otherwise he might give us tickets for Game 5.
