****Official Biscuits and Gravy Thread****

Guys I need a good biscuits and gravy recipe for this weekend. One that's simply amazing. Some stories about the best restaurant purchased as well. What was the best b and g you have ever eaten? Also are you more of a fan of the top or bottom of the biscuit? Any and every thing about this topic shall be in this thread.

yes New Chief - Phobia is fairly good as well. But FMB! is crowned - I crowned his ass a few mos ago. He's really done well for himself and his dishing's look fantastic. I'm very proud of that culinary trooper. It wouldn't take a lot to get me back, I'll be honest though, I'd have to lean on FMB! for the creativity - that's where I'm out of practice - My routine and raw kitchen talents would bail me out, most of the time.

You're very kind, SR. Really, I learn a lot from this board. And I enjoy playing at home.

This reminds me of some healthy diarrhea as well:

@ProFootballTalk: Norv Turner wanted Browns to sign Matt Cassel last year; Turner has Cassel this year in Minnesota http://t.co/VBLd0qil8n

I'd add, one of the things that REALLY helped get me into trying new things was The Flavor Bible. It's a book of lists of ingredients and classic and alternative flavor combinations, and completely worth the money to anyone who enjoys experimenting in the kitchen.

I'm being serious here - It's funny this biscuits and gravy thread - I really think that's one of the best things that I can consistently do exceptional - I can pump out a trucker's breakfast with the best of them - and yes I can make homemade biscuits - I have tons of advice on baking them. I can bake fairly well - it's one of my strengths as well. Usually when I was throwing out hot plates neighboring an Executive Chef, the creativity was already decided - so my creativity was never 'groomed' like it should have been.

It's like a big MLB slugger that can't run for shit. Very similar concept here, with me in the kitchen.

not at all - I'm glad you play around in the kitchen - I encourage it - it's fun to cook and most anyone likes to. Just don't leave the burner on.

I'd happily compete on gravy, brisket, and chili. Chili is a specialty, my brisket is outstanding, and I already know you'll put bacon grease in your gravy. Maybe yours is better, I don't know. Maybe you'd win all four, maybe not. I know mine is pretty tasty. But if you think you can't be beat then you're just being ignorant. Ribs, meh. Mine admittedly aren't great.

But why are you wanting to compete on these? Why not be a little more versatile? Pasta or fish or veggies or steak or hamburgers? I'll compete on any of them, because I can cook more than gravy, ribs, brisket, and chili.

Dont be so serious brohammad. My cockiness is in jest...and those are the only four things I'm really good at, I'm average or below at everything else.

My gravy is just passed down from my grandma, its nothing special besides bacon grease instead of sausage and whole milk. Just a personal preference really.

My wife doesn't cook so I just pretty much buy and cook what's quick and easy, that and she quit her job so I'm on a budget. I can cook, maybe not to the level of some but everyone seams to like what I cook. leaving the burner on, lol, I'm not that big of a drunk.
