Well, I tried installing the latest XBMC from the XBMC website and it was not a good experience at all. HD video played jerky as hell. Going back to the Enhanced XBMC that came with the gboxl.

Just as an FYI: Spotimc doesn't work with Android currently, which sucks for me as I'm an avid spotify user.

Question: is there a way to bookmark a movie so that it will queu up in your library and be ready to play from that exact point and that stream via one click?
Example: I'm watching Thor. Wife comes in and wants to watch breaking bad. I hit the bookmark. We watch BB and then I can easily resume where I left off wit my movie? I know 1channel has a bookmark feature, but I don't think it integrates with XBMC in that way?

Anyone have any thoughts on this? Says they tested many boxes, including the gbox I was planning on getting and OUYA is hands down the way to go. I've watched a few videos, and read a couple web forum reviews, and the only problems people seem to encounter are with high end audio streaming, which a fix is said to be in the works. A couple pluses are that I could run emulators and play sweet ass NES, SNES, SEGA games. Seems responsive, stable, XBMC downloadable straight from OUYA store, and right now they have a Valentines deal to get an OUYA for $70. They also say they figure noobs into the equation for their ranking. Thoughts? |

Edit: I just tested the wifi connection, and it blows. 1Meg on a 6Meg line. For $85 total, it's a good option (if you're using ethernet). Has way more processing power than the Gbox. |

Thats a bummer. 1st Gens allow you to pop a crystalHD card in it and it will play 1080p flawlessly.

FYI.. it's cheaper the longer term you buy. And you get a 10% discount using Bitcoin. Still easily worth it for me.

Finally got my Ouya. Stock XBMC from the store installed(I know this should probably change). Installed some add ons, lots of fails. Need to figure this pay out a bit better.
On the plus side, installed NES, SNES, and SEGA emulators. Suggestions welcome, but think I got the bulk of what I like. Never owned SNES our SEGA, so not sure there. Simpson's: Bart's Nightmare is going to get the duck played out of it. Underrated. |
