He'll have to make due with only having the 6th highest overall PFF ranking among CBs...
His per-snap rating is .019122 but truth be told, I'm not sure what utility that figure really has. Even if you believe in PFF as dispositive, the overall ranking is more interesting than the per/snap ranking unless you're just looking to discount the fact that Cooper didn't get snaps early, but then you're disregarding small sample sizes unfairly.

By the way, Brandon Flowers is kind of in the middle of the pack with a +.00233 rating. It would be too much work to figure out where he ranks on that metric. He ties for 43rd based on total rating though.

It will take a few more games to make up for that showing against Dez for sure

Every good CB in the NFL will fail a few times against Dez during the game. Dez is that good.

I met Cooper last night. Seems like a very humble kid.
The thing that stands out is he's tall but not much on his frame. That kid is going going to get stronger and learn the position and be even better. Thats ridiculous upside folks. |

Get rid of Lewis and find a real hatchet man back there and yes we are on that level but Lewis intimidates no one. Are there any other safeties on the depth chart/practice squad that show some promise ?? Besides he is soft and gets hurt too often.

I'd put Lewis in the "could be upgraded" category, but not in the "needs replaced" category.
We have a lot of money tied up in Berry and Flowers. It's great that we have a guy playing at a high level for peanuts. I'll take Cooper at $400k versus Carr at $10,000,000 per.

There has to be a middle ground there doesn't there? It's not as though upgrading the FS position was as critical as upgrading the #2 CB was last offseason, but as long as Lewis is back there dodging ballcarriers, there's a ceiling on the defense. I'd still be curious to see Robinson out there, but I don't think he understands the coverages well enough to start. Lewis has a lot of 'read' responsibilities and I can't see Robinson getting any of those right. I also don't really want to put more on Berry's plate and risk pulling him out of the groove he's in right now.
