I like both Church's and Popeye's.
Breading texture: Church's > Popeye's Breading spiciness: Church's < Popeye's (but doused in hot sauce, both are about the same) Juiciness of meat: Church's >> Popeye's (this might have to do with the local cooks, but the Church's near my work always turns out perfectly cooked chicken, juicy and flavorful...the local Popeye's is always good, but can be dry) Biscuits: Church's >> Popeye's (Not a hugely important criterion, but Church's biscuits are way bettter) Sides: Church's < Popeye's (This used to be a double-win for Popeye's for me, because I love Popeye's red bean and rice, but lately the beans seem a little dry and overcooked; again, it's probably just a quirk of the locations near me) Last edited by DanT; 10-19-2017 at 04:26 PM.. |

Never had it. I don't think they had one in Omaha when I lived there. They don't have one here in Scottsbluff. I don't think they even have one in Cheyenne. I'm down in Denver quite a bit but Popeye's never enters my mind when heading out to get something to eat. I've had Church's when visiting family in KC. And they have Chik-fil-A in Cheyenne. We have a little place, Mom and Pop here in a Co-Op grocery store that's pretty damn good. It's better than the KFC.

Last time I went (a week ago) it seemed like they had changed their chicken in the chicken sammich. Maybe that was a one time thing. I hope so because it was certainly a lesser chicken

Meh, ok but nothing I would go out of my way for. We have a gas station here in the rougher side of town that makes the best pressure cooker fried chicken, tater wedges and or chicken livers you ever ate.

I'd take Popeyes every time over bland Chick-fil-A...
