We had the opportunity to get STARTERS and we opt for a back-up as our first play in FA.

Looks like Pioli didn't want to startle the team too much by replacing Thomas Jones and Jackie Battle with a decent back. 3.6 YPC last year in which he held out of a game. One decent year in his career. Perfect replacement for Jones if you want to exactly replace his numbers.

This is just dumb. Thomas Jones of the last three years is nothing close to Peyton Hillis in 2010. Last year is not a good year to judge him on.

...and he's a back-up. Our first play in FA is a back-up, when we could have had starters.
