Alex Smith expresses his desire to return to Chiefs in 2018

GO AWAY YOU ****ING LOSER. LEAVE NOW AND NEVER COME BACK.

Alex Smith expresses his desire to return to Chiefs in 2018

Quote:
The Kansas City Chiefs' season ended earlier than they anticipated.

The No. 4 seed in the AFC coughed up an 18-point lead in a 22-21 loss to the Tennessee Titans on Saturday, setting up an offseason of uncertainty.

Chief among that will be quarterback Alex Smith.

Despite leading Kansas City to a 10-6 record and AFC West title, the Chiefs are said to be open to trading the veteran pivot. The team set up its future by trading up in April's draft to select quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

Smith has just one year left on his four-year, $68-million contract, and intends to see it through.

"Yeah, I mean, you kidding me? I signed the contract," Smith said when asked after the game if he'd like to stay in Kansas City
, according to Nick Shook of NFL.com.

"I'm under contract for another year, so like I said, I'm not thinking about anything else. Right now, obviously disappointed. Like I said, I felt like we had a good chance, and it's gone."

Under Smith's direction, the Chiefs raced out to a 5-0 start to the season, hit a lull in which they lost six of their next seven games, then won their final four contests.

On Saturday, Smith threw two first-half touchdowns to give Kansas City a 21-3 cushion, but went 5 of 10 for 33 yards in the second half.

The 13-year veteran wasn't prepared to dive further into his future so soon after the loss.

"The game just ended," Smith said. "We'll get into all of that in the next couple of weeks."

Because with Sutton and before him Crennel its been 7 straight years of bend but dont break defense. Shit doesn't work against the best (or not so much the best - Titans) in the playoffs when your offense is scared to play 4 quarters.

Ain't nothing to vulture from our defense. Alex vultures off of playing poor to mediocre defenses and then chokes against good ones because the mediocre to poor defenses haven't figured out what Lebeau has figured out.

Had they not abandon it last year they would have beaten us handedly not needing a last second FG to win. Well this year they learned to stay with their talented strength. Andy and Alex panicked especially Andy when he knew TK was out for the rest of the game and then went sideways when he didn't have to IMHO.
He didn’t have to? That is who Alex smith is. He doesn’t have the arm strength to make tight-window throws to wide receivers. He doesn’t have the ability to make anticipation throws, or throw a receiver open. No, since he was in SF, Alex smith relied 10-15 yard throws to tightends and occasional bombs to a ridiculously wide open receiver downfield. He’s a very, very, very limited quarterback.

What would it take to consider the defense Alex has had in the 5 years hes been in KC elite?

Right, I’m insane. Straight psycho.
Stats can be very deceiving(see Alex Smith and our defenses from the last 4 yrs) How old are you guys ?? Do even remember the Chiefs defenses in the early to mid 90's. Those defenses were ELITE !! And our defenses since 98 to the present don't even come close to those 90's defenses.

You resort to "bend but don't break defensive schemes" when you don't have talent or very little talent at key positions.

Ya and the game has changed since then. The Chiefs have been one of the elite defenses in the league since Alex has been in KC.

Duh ! Are you assuming I am an Alex fan and think he is all that ? Because I am not and never have been.

It ain't changed that much. And it is clear you do not have "real football eyes" as to what smash mouth football looks like even when it is done to us by our opponents who eventually win in the trenches that you still cannot recognize.

Sure our defense looked real top 10 tonight !!!

The game hasn't changed much since the 90's and you have the balls to question other's "football eyes?"

Absolutely ! Especially when they call our defense of the last 4 yrs ELITE !! Your definition of elite goes strictly off stats which can be very deceiving and the proof of misleading stats is when you get bitched slapped in the trenches against talented teams thus run and thrown all over at will( see Pitt, Dal, Titans, even the Jets....) losing games and thus losing BIG GAMES IN PLAYOFFS !!

Your definition of elite is far different than mine. The only elite defense we have ever shown in the last 4 yrs was our red zone defense and even that has fallen off big time this year.

LOL. There were only 4 drives in the 2ns half and most ended up with others screwing, so yeah., what a POS. At halftime everyone's saying hes on his way to SB and 4 possessions later and 25 min of Titan time, he's crap.

I don't know why he would want to come back to a fan base that doesn't want him? He'd get beat out by Patrick Mahomes II in pre-season so I'm not really worried about it. Patrick needs all the #1 reps he can get so it would hold back Patrick and this team bringing Alex back and it would serve much good to get draft picks and get a stud LB.
