Cool. Base your opinions on this defense from when we had a QB who was a game manager through and through and played not to lose instead of a gunslinger who is going to force his defense back onto the field sooner then they're ready to at times from how dynamic he plays. I saw a lot of whining about "the defense is just fatigued, give them a break." Guess what, fellas? This is your life now.

One thing that shouldn't be discounted was KC ran like 3 offensive plays and were up 14. It was 100 on the field and the way it unfolded, put the defense on the field a lot.

Both teams had 11 drives but LA had 20 more plays and almost 10 minutes more...nearly an entire quarter. It takes a few games to get into season shape and they were gassed. It'll be interesting, if KC continues scoring quickly, how it will affect the defense and stamina.

The final 18 minutes...KC had four, 3-n-outs. Chargers had drives of 9, 10, and 9 plays. I'm not surprised River's padded his stats to a Bortles-like level. Rivers was around 200 yards passing late in the 3rd quarter..

Don't know if this has been posted. But real good breakdown. I think cover 2 teams exposed our script. But what if you have a guy who goes off script? Mahomes will have to be nails on pre snap reads. But on the other hand, he doesn't need them nearly as much.

The Steelers were perfectly built on defense to stop Alex Smith and for the most part they did.

Mahomes don't give a **** about you flooding one level with zones or throwing deep.

This game may hit 90 total pts if there's good weather...

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

Please - we did a lot of the same last year - even if they DO know what's going to happen doesn't mean they can stop it - plus I think we have even MORE deception vs. last season.

Oh yeah, for sure. My point (not made well) is that Alex Smith doesn't do well when he's off script. And Pittsburgh's defense was well scripted to beat him. In Mahomes' short time in KC I don't think he's a script guy. It helps explain why Pittsburgh shut down Alex Smith in cover 2 but I don't think it will work against Mahomes.
