Having a bye has hardly ever been an advantage for us.

I think a coaching alteration would not hurt either. Whose decision is it to not have adequate depth on the roster. Also who makes the decision to be so thin on offense.

You have no cups in MLS because they're ****ing stupid. In European countries, it's different because you have big rivalries that go years back in history. In the US, you have empty stadiums.
I like MLS - I think it's great for the development of soccer in this country. But it'll never mean anything until it drops the single entity structure. |

Vermes outcoached AGAIN by Kinnear. Team was out hustled too. ****ing pathetic effort. This is exactly why I didn't want to see Houston.

That is the teams first loss since July. It hurts bad because it is the playoffs. But that is not a team that needs to be rebuilt. Kinear outcoaches Vermes on game day. But he outcoaches everyone else too. Tgey had a bad game and the outright refusal of the referee to call a foul in the midfield, which normally favors us, couldnt possibly favor houston more.
SKC are probably 3 to 1 underdogs now and that is too bad. But it is not all bad. It has been a good season. Only one team gets to win. |

Today? he decides to sub in bench riding OFFENDERS who have had little to no playing time thereby throwing off the entire field of play. He COULD have subbed in more defenders, the second goal was at the 75th minute, enabling us to head back to Livestrong needing only two DOABLE goals to win the series. But three? For a team that doesn't score? It still irks me. I am now even more convinced than before that he is NOT the coach who will win the MLS cup. He was so panicked and out coached he forgot what got him there when the chips were down. Dismal coaching performance by Vermes.

That said, their reaction to losing the cup earlier on was pretty bad. So, as a Sounders fan let me offer up congratulations, and a good game on their behalf. Emotions were high. The right calls were made. Sporting KC earned that victory. Wasn't so bad for me. I've got 2 teams in MLS. I love Sporting as well. However, I'm still learning the game. |

Hopefully lessons learned. Apparently not. Something has gone terribly wrong when your team is putting rusty bench warmers with little or no playing time on the field to help your offense in a such a high profile game. It would have been wiser to be his usual rigid self and play for the one goal differential heading back to LSP. No, he let's Kinnear call the shots, whines on national TV at half time, and then starts throwing desperate measures out when they most needed consistency and to hunker down...the crap he usually does during regular season when you have the luxury of taking chances. The first game of the playoffs is NOT the time to throw caution to the wind and gamble. I put this loss entirely on him. He was not prepared with adequate depth on the offense and when he needed to bolster the defense he instead decided to play players who'd not seen the field much the entire regular season. And whatever he's doing to prepare his team on long layoffs is not working. They seem out of sorts and listless upon returning from most long breaks. Also, whatever happened with Collin taking him off the field and then putting him in right before the playoffs was another mistake. I think since his return the defense has not looked in sync. Collin is my favorite player but he has not been able to return to his pre-benching form. I understand disciplining your player but whatever happened has caused lasting impact on the field. That is on Collin but also Vermes for not containing the damage and impact of the discipline TO Collin vs. let it disrupt the team. Sigh. Ok, enough anger. Going back to my Cauldron inspired tranquility. No, it was not over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor.
