Emotion owns Walt. That is a huge weakness.

The timing was quite amazing that Walt happened to be in the office when Gomey told Hank about Mike.

LOOOOOOVED this episode, but the whole "oh i could have gotten those names from Lydia. whoops my bad." pissed me off. I want Walt to be all in, all evil.
I wanted him to say "You and Lydia are the only thing connecting Fring to me and Jessie. The other 9 only know the ghost that is Heisenburg. I cannot afford to have you or Lydia disrupt my empire." *Gun shot to the head.Cut to credits* I still have all the faith in the world that Gilligan knows what he is doing.

I'm aping this line from Andy Greenwald's episode review, but the shortcuts that this episode took to get to where it got were like the Arizona organization's 70% pure cook to Breaking Bad's usual Heisenberg-blue quality storytelling.

A review I read opined that the 70% pure vs. blue dialog was metanarrative for the writer's feelings about Dish's not carrying them.

Maybe I am forgetting something but Walt never really had it made with Gus. Gus took his recipe and eventually was trying to kill him. Mike actually had a gun to Walt's head at one point and if Jesse had not killed Gale they both would have been dead. What am I missing?

Though I do think that, at that time, Walt was acting out of some concern for Jesse, as Gus was going to have Jesse killed for stealing product, IIRC.

I have a feeling that Todd's "prison connections" are going to be put to good use next week.

I don't know. Gale & Gus had a long relationship and since Gale set up the lab before Walt got involved I imagine that Gus would've let him take over once he had the cook down. I don't think Gus ever saw Walt as a long term relationship.

Mike knew better. He joined the partnership against his better judgement - but loyalty to paying off his legacy crew pulled him in.
The number of 'bothersome' items in the storyline continue to grow. Besides the ones others have mentioned, why would Mike allow Walt to bring him the go-bag, and not Jesse? that makes no sense to me. How will Jesse learn of Mikes demise, and how will he react? How long before Ricky Hitler begins stealing from Walt? Can any of the legacy crew identify Walt?

Walt and Mike and Gus all could have lived happily ever after just like Mike says.
However that kinda required Jesse to be dead. Interestingly enough, Mike would have been the guy to kill him. |

More straightforward, if Walt had acquiesced to Gus' mistrust of Jesse as a dangerously sloppy hood rat and let Mike kill him, they might've all gotten along in the wake of Jesse's death.
