Washington may end up the biggest loss of the lot. His deep speed is really making defenses play off us. They have to give him so much respect that it opens up all kinds of plays underneath to guys like Lucas and Sasser. DGB will probably step into his role next year with Sasser stepping into Lucas's, but we're so effective right now because of the depth of the weapons in the WR corps. After DGB and Sasser, things get a little thin. Maybe Hunt makes the leap, but that's pretty hopeful. Sure, we may have some redshirts that are playing well, but so did GA and they looked completely out of their depth against us. There's no substitute for game experience. Our WRs are likely to take quite a step back next year. Mauk will need to be extremely sharp to make up for that, IMO.

Darius White and Levi Copelin are also playing quite a bit. That's one benefit of rotating so many WRs... get a lot of PT for your backups. I think DGB/Sasser/Hunt/Moore is a different matchup for teams, but the nice thing about having DGB is that most of your other guys are going to face single coverage. I expect the WRs to take a bit of a step back, but it still should be a good and productive unit. The reports on Moore have been so positive, it's hard to NOT be excited, but you are right that we will have to see it on the field before completely buying it.

Man, I just took a look at SC's conference schedule - boy, they got some breaks, didn't they?
Their cross-conference games? Mississippi State and Arkansas. The rest of their schedule is similar to ours, but they get easily the 2 worst teams in the West. At least we get A&M at home. It's funny - this might as well just be a winner take all game at this point. If we lose, they're within a game of us with the tie-breaker and 2 likely Ws on their schedule. We'd have to win out to take the division and with Ole Miss and A&M still on the schedule, that's a tough row to hoe. If we win, OTOH, we're 3 games up with the tiebreaker and only need one more win to clinch the division. If this isn't the biggest game in the last several decades for Mizzou in Columbia, it's at least close. The OU game may have been bigger because it announced our arrival as a legitimate football program. The Nebraska game was more about getting monkeys off our backs. But in terms of the stakes of the game, I can't think of any games here in Columbia as important as this one is. The conference title games and neutral site game against KU comes to mind, but those weren't here in CoMo. I think the crowd will be there ready to bring it. I sure hope so anyway.

LWash & Lucas are two year starters (Lucas actually started some in '11 as well) who saw the field all 4 yrs. You don't just plug and chug guys w/ the skill set and experience they possess are hard to replace.
It'll be alright though the cupboard's not bare and DGB w/ another year of growth will be a guy that most teams likely have to roll coverage over to account for which will open things up elsewhere and he's the type of talent that will make plays in spite of the added attention.

It's probably Rhodes or Taylor Chappell. I don't think Morse has the feet to play LT.

Something I noticed rewatching the game... We had several high snaps. They were all on running plays. Don't know if Boehmite is doing something differently to prepare to run block, but that can't be a coincidence.

What happens when you take cheap shots at Marcus Murphy out of bounds? Two plays later:
