And come on vail, even you have to admit he's sliding down the slippery bandwagon slope. If it were a CHiefs fan that said that statement, you'd lead the charge of berrating a bandwagon rival... |

These aren't the Royals or the Rockies or the Yankees or the Heat or Bulls or the St Louis Blues or even Roger Federer. This is professional football. Each team gets 16 games and that's it. The good ones get only a couple more. That's your favorite team. The one you spend hours on an internet message board talking about. The one you can debate, study, criticize, praise, and sexually fantasize about. The ones we all love. When they're playing our emotions are like life and death. How can somebody care about a sports team that much and watch them play so little, and then get bored when they're losing a goddamn game? **** I just burst a blood vessel in my eye! |

Sure. But like you, I would rewind back to see what I missed. I wouldn't turn the TV off like a yellow coward because I couldn't handle the outcome.

Denver has been a pass happy team for a few reasons... sporadic and inconsistent rushing the ball, lack of consistency and threats from the TE position and thanks to a horrific defense for quite a few years now... they have to pass a lot to play catch up. I'll always be a Broncos' fan and over the years, I've learned to become more realistic with things. It doesn't matter who is playing QB as long as they have the struggles in the areas I mentioned above. Last year, if Denver had been able to impose their will on other teams with the rushing attack and the defense had been able to just be average... Denver wins a few more games and Orton has a better image. This reminds me so much of the Plummer/Cutler saga... neither Plummer nor Orton were prolific, but they showed great signs of making things happen. Orton has fewer bonehead plays, but why did Plummer go 33-15 in those first 3 seasons? They ran the ball very well and the defense was in the top 15 for points allowed and yards allowed. In 3 of the 4 years since, the defense has been HORRIFIC aside from the tease of the first 6 starts in McD's first year and that turned out to be a fluke start. Right now, Orton is still in Denver and should he stay - I don't see Tebow legitimately beating him out for the job. And, that's why they want to trade him, they can't realistically bench him in favor of the fan favorite ... they'd look stupid. I hope that Orton gets traded to Miami and with that team - he'll have a TON of weapons and I hope he proves all the doubters wrong. Orton is a good guy that seems to always get caught up with a team that desires QB drama. I have to wish and hope for the best with Tebow... yes, I think he can be good, but people better be prepared for some ups and downs. The kid is not polished yet, he's got a lot to work on... the good thing is this - it's in his character to do everything he can to be the best. So, we'll see. Everyone points to the Tebow comeback over the Texans... well, good for him, but it was the 6 win Texans with a very crappy defense. Let's not act like they were the Steelers. Yes, Tebow showed some really positive things during those 3 games... but 3 games don't make you a franchise QB.
