Off Season Lets Talk Guns
Been a while since we had a guns n' ammo discussion.
Some of you are AR shooters Im sure. Im looking at a Colt 6920. Will be my first AR. Picked up a Glock this fall and really enjoy shooting it. Any feedback on that weapon? Anyone else been in a buy/sell/trade mood with hardware? Part 2: http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showthread.php?t=293623 Last edited by Bearcat; 07-28-2015 at 06:06 PM.. |

That's a nice looking revolver. I'm wanting to get one of the new Ruger SR22's and then also pick up a bolt action .22 rifle. I'm still not sure what kind of rifle I'll go with yet, but I think I've narrowed it down to 3. Either the new Malin XT-22, a Salvage Mark II, or a CZ 455 American.

The new rifle bug is starting to bite, this time with a nostalgic twist. I'm thinking of picking up an M1 Garand.
Does anybody have one? I've heard that there's an issue with ammo - they won't fire modern 30-06 rounds without some modification. Any thoughts tip would be appreciated. |

Re: Garands.
The answer to whether Garands can fire commercial 30-06 is yes and no. Most commercial '06 would beat the hell out if a Garand and should not be fired through one. However several companies still commercially load '06 to WWII specs. Additionally, you can install an adjustable gas plug in a Garand that will allow you to shoot any commercial 30-06. Its like a $25 part. I suggest you check out the CMP. |

I'd also point you at CMP. The price of nice Garands has gone sky high, the 'decent' ones thru the CMP are a good bet. If you've got more cash set aside...Fulton Armory is also a good bet:

I have a problem with my left wrist where I cannot turn it palm up which makes firing a long gun interesting. This is the reason I use the vertical grip on the mini. I have one for the shotgun as well but I really like the look of the chainsaw grip. Using it conjunction with the pistol grip on my Maverick 88 would be ideal since it is strictly a HD gun and shooting from the hip.
I cannot find the damn grip for sale anywhere though. |

Alright I'm already being effected by search engine shopping sections excluding gun accessories. This sucks...there has to be a firearm friendly search engine that has a good shopping section.
