Hearing 610 today, usually I have respect for Danny Parkins, but today was the most ridiculous drivel I've ever heard in Kansas City Radio. He was talking about the Bill Williamson point of getting Nick Foles from Philly with Chip Kelly being there and his system in place. The part that was ludicrous was the draft terms he was coming up with. He said, going from 4 to 1 to draft Geno Smith, Philly wouldn't be satisfied with giving us Nick Foles and the 4 pick for our 1st overall...
Who the **** are you kidding? We're doing them a favor in every way possible. If Chip Kelly doesn't get his guy, he's not going to work in the NFL. If Chip Kelly doesn't get his guy, the GM and Owner will forever be ridiculed in that city of bloodthirsty fans, and you're saying that they would probably only do the trade if we gave them our 1st AND then a third or fourth round pick. We're giving them Geno Smith for a QB they no longer want or need.... Parkins, I don't know if you haven't ever seen a draft chart or understand how trading out of top first picks works but honestly don't talk if you can't form a coherent thought. |

I think it was more like blind stupidity.

If we trade down, Geno probably goes #1 or #2.

I like Geno, I like Wilson, I actually like Barkley. Glennon is a little meh to me at this point. Hell, I even think Landry Jones has some upside.
I know this is the wrong way to think about it, but I really just want them to evaluate who the best guy is and take him at 1. Seeing all these other teams draft QB's high and succeed, yeah, I'm a little jealous. I'd rather us take a QB and him bust, than take a DL or OT and him be ok but really just meh. It's a stupid way to think about it, and it's wrong, but damn it, you gotta try to get that guy or you can't win. So just take your top QB. If they draft Geno, or Wilson at 1 and he busts, fine. |

I think that is a given. I'll be shocked if Geno is not the #1 QB on our board

I could see Wilson being ahead of Geno on the Chiefs board because he is more in the mold of QBs that Reid has had in the past. He has a little Favre and McNabb in him. He has a gunslinger mentality and he can scramble pretty well.

Once coaches and GM's are routinely fired for reaching and over-drafting quarterbacks, the madness will end.

You're certainly welcome to disagree. Disagreeing doesn't make you stupid.
A concept RunKC hasn't figured out yet. Because, you know, he thinks that everybody who wants Geno is just an idiot who hasn't, like, watched him play 20+ games over three years, and read all kinds of commentary on him, and has been talking about him for months and even years. Nope. RunKC says the "NFL Scouts" he has imaginary conversations with tell him Geno Smith isn't a good QB, and anybody who disagrees is just dumb. |
