Fallout 3

Sorry if it's a repost, but I'm seeing a lot of talk about this... thought we might centralize the discussion.

This makes me excited.

During a March 21, 2008 Official Xbox Magazine podcast interview, Todd Howard revealed that the game had expanded to nearly the same scope as Oblivion. There were 500 versions of the final cutscene, but due to recent upgrades, there are now over 10,000 different versions, which was determined by all of the actions taken by the player.

If you haven't already, try Oblivion. IMO, it's better. Not by much, but better.

Ok, I just checked, it is on PS3.

I can get the Regular Edition for $20, or the Game of the Year edition for $57....

Which should I go with?

I'd go GOTY, it includes the add-ons. Look for it used from somewhere like Gamestop.

Same maker as Fallout 3, by the way (Bethesda). Same game style.

If you get it, I'd HIGHLY advise you do the first couple main quest things first. The Siege of Kvatch is a BITCH past level 2 or so.

Im definitely getting it, but I'm going to wait til I finish Fallout 3 so I dont throw it aside...

I just looked at some pictures from the game and it looks cool.

I just hope I dont turn into an RPG Freak...like I dont want to be playing WoW like my brothers do all day...

I was never much of an RPG person until Oblivion. Then I spend the next two years looking for something comparable, only for the gamer geeks to tell me, "Yeah, you're not going to find one until Fallout 3 comes out."

That sucks...Good thing I didn't play Oblivion when it first came out...

I wonder how long until something else comparable comes out....

Did you ever play Morrowind?

I tried Morrowind, but it was after I played Oblivion. It was distinctly a step back, and I couldn't handle it.

I understand, though, that it is also a great game.

Looks like the next Bethesda game to come out will be Rogue Warrior | http://www.bethsoft.com/eng/games/ga...uewarrior.html

Generally speaking, there's at least a couple years between their major games. Likely, though, they'll put out some extra add-ons for Fallout in a bit.

I'm just getting into Fallout 3. I bought it yesterday and made it to megaton last night. I'm looking forward to playing later on.

Oblivion isn't for all people, but it's definitely really cool in my book. It's kind of Dungeons and Dragons/Lord Of the Rings feel to it.

I see....

Luckily, after Fallout 3 and then Oblivion I will have a lot of other games to look forward to.

I need to Finish MGS4, LittleBigPlanet, then I have Madden 09, Fifa 09

I am probably going to pick up Resistance 1 and Resistance 2

I played the Mirror's Edge Demo and loved it, I'll probably pick up the game.

I'm probably going to purchase Call of Duty 5 and Mortal Kombat vs. DC.

I have a lot on my plate upcoming.

You are just behind me on Fallout 3. Make sure you talk to all the people in Megaton, they got some cool stuff for you...

Good advice. I have to admit I wondered outside of Megaton a little bit before actually going there. I would recommend looking throughout some of the destroyed structures. Enjoy! The game definitely has got me wanting to get back to playing as soon as possible.

I would say as a rule of thumb(since some things are similiar to Oblivion)Always have at least two saves going at all times. Also, you can actually carry things that weigh more than your capacity will allow in FO3-it slows you down considerably, though. Oblivion if your over-encumbered-you can't move, period. I'm ready to dig in.

I play that way, too. Always two active saves.
