I'll be at work, so have it set to record, and will watch it Wednesday.

Yep.

Riggins made his living pounding the middle.

I'll give him credit for getting open, but my argument about McCluster has always been that he lacks speed and elusiveness.

I was in high school in the late 70's and he was a threat all the way around. Yes a powerback for sure but he was a threat out in the flat, etc.....sometimes a fly rte right down the middle of the field with his exceptional speed 9.6 100yd dash in high school. Tells you how fast he was. That was the beauty of Riggins was that he was so deceptive in his added abilities that went along with his power back strength.

I don't think he lacks speed. Elusiveness, maybe. Hopefully, that won't have to matter.

Oh yea lol. I lost a bet to Clay, I practically gave him the win tho for what I bet him. It's ok though Clay is still looking like an ass with his sploog rage & angst against McCluster & this sig kind of points that out.

He is at the right spot and right time for him to get the ball. He made a big play to put us on the five for a scoring opportunity. I don't know what more can ask of him from that tonight at least. He wasn't on the field all that long but he had more success than the other starting WRs on the field.

Here is what I wrote in the Quinn/Stanzi thread, probably should put it in here as well:

Cassel
*Like milkman has said from day one, Cassel in the shotgun with one read is at his best - he showed that tonight
*Only targeted Baldwin once - just alot of little dump passes to McCluster.
*Hillis touchdown was wide the **** open
*Missed a huge play to Charles
*Very very few pressures from the Cardinals, that is when the true Cassel comes out
Grade = A- This is basically was Cassel at his best tonight. We have one scary ass offense though especially with Bowe coming back.

Quinn
*Quinn is pretty good at going through the progressions which we haven't seen in KC for a while
*His pass on the pass interfernce call was one hell of a throw. That was in my end zone and you throw that to Bowe, Baldwin or Breaston and thats six easy.
*When he threw to legit NFL roster players, he looked good. Quinn to Copper was working tonight.
*That being said, its probably a good thing he over threw Copper on that one. Copper got cheap shotted on that anyways, he might have got really crushed if that was on the money
*Running game wasn't the best when Quinn was in. I think Cyrus Gray is better than Shaun Draughn thats
*Quinn with his legs made chicken shit out chicken salad tonight a couple of times
*The bootleg on the goal line was questionable without having a tight end option IMO. But Sam Acho of Arizona slow played it perfectly. That was text book DE play.
*The interception - I didn't get a good read on it. I couldn't tell if Wylie tipped it or not. Anyways that was a time, he should have just took the sack instead of forcing something.
*Bottom line with Quinn tonight - looked good when he played with NFL talent, not so much with the camp fodder. He showed me he could step in a play if Cassel was hurt.
Quinns Grade = B-

Stanzi
*Cyrus Gray was a beast. Damn we are deep at running back.
*His post to Maneri was right on the money
*Also threading the needle to O'Connell was good
*The end zone toss, pretty decent throw - maybe just a little more air on it and we don't have camp fodder trying to land like he did
*Bottom line tonight with Sanzi - improving young QB, probably a year away from taking over the backup role
Stanzi's grade = B-

It's next week for sure.

I watched the game via the internet link provided in the thread. The feed was hazy and blurry but I think that expectations should be high going into this season. The Chiefs were well coached, well organized, didn't commit any "stupid" penalties and at the same time, relaxed and confident.

What stood out to me was the line play on both sides of the ball. Both first and second team lineman came to play and kicked ass. The second team opened plenty of holes protected the QB well. I'll be very interested to watch more closely on a large LCD TV with the option of pausing and rewinding.

All in all, this was the finest preseason performance I can recall in the past decade and maybe longer. This team is certainly DEEP in most positions and it showed throughout the game and into the 4th quarter. If this is the "beginning", the end should be bad ass.

It's waaaaaay too early but my initial take on Romeo and his staff (including the final three games of the 2011 season) is that it's the best since the early 90's. Which to me, is very exciting.

While you gave Cassel an A- I have to say some of your takes on him seem to be off from what I saw on TV. Except the screen I think his shortest throw was 8 yards.

Seems to me the big difference between Haley and RAC is Haley wanted to treat everyone like they didn't know shit and he knew everything. RAC seems to be one of those types that's like "you're a ****ing pro football player and I am going to treat you like one. I'm not going to hold your hand or baby you or talk to you like a dumbass. You're going to play like a pro or I'll bench you. I'm not going to waste my time cussing at you.".

Riggins did have speed, but he didn't get to the edge the way an OJ Simpson or an Eric Dickerson did.

He hit the corners on the power sweeps.

And he wasn't a big receiving threat either.

I doubt he had 30 receptions in a season more than 2 or 3 times in his career.

The comparison of Hillis to Riggins is total ****ing dumbassary.

I'm just pointing out that giving me his numbers doesn't really tell me anything.
