It would've been cheap and at this point I think Dorsey just decided he was fine with whoever. I'd have moved up bit I think Dorsey clearly wasn't as excited by Cunningham as we thought. If he was, it wouldn't have been hard to move up 3 or 4 spots

I didn't realize until tonight that Cunningham only benched 13 reps on top of his already questionable size... seems like a potential major issue in the NFL when it comes to getting off blocks.

Get us that monster Hodges to play MIKE.

Totally agree about Cunningham. Cunningham is too skinny and no way he ever becomes a thumper in my humble opinion.

There aren’t too many members of PFT’s list of this year’s top free agents still unsigned and one of the dwindling number will be taking a visit on Wednesday in hopes of landing a job.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that linebacker Gerald Hodges is meeting with the Jets. Hodges visited with the Chiefs and Seahawks in March, but hasn’t popped up on the radar screen since then.

Hodges spent most of his first three seasons with the Vikings and 49ers as a reserve before moving into a starting role with the 49ers last season. He had 83 tackles, three sacks, two interceptions and a forced fumble while playing inside linebacker. The Jets have David Harris and 2016 first-round pick Darron Lee at the starting spots.

If the Jets do sign Hodges, he won’t figure into the compensatory pick formula for 2018.

I'd rather go without him than see Hodges sign a ridiculous offer where we all go, "What the **** John? Where's the money coming from?" and then have people step in and say, "See, it's not as bad as it looks because blah blah guaranteed money in 2nd year blah blah cap hit blah blah" even though it's still an overpriced and frankly ridiculous offer.

Ali it takes is giving Alex Smith some dead money until 2020.

If there was a way Hodges and Barnidge could be added to the roster, I'd feel way better about the depth of the team heading into a season where the Chiefs should again factor into postseason play. March is terrible, T. Smith is a marginal NFL player and Wilson should not be a starter, though he was admirable in his mop up duty last season. Eligwe needs time, and Hodges affords DJ time to get back healthy. DJ Alexander is best in his ST Ace role. Hodges allows Sutton to play the next best guy. Right now, there are huge questions at both spots and the Chiefs would be wise to bring stability to the position with so many uncertainties.
Barnidge on a 1 year deal could get Harris off the books for his dumbassery, and hedge against Escobar if he doesn't pan out. Ross Travis can be the #3/4 TE.

Adding these guys does not factor into the comp pick formula... +

The Ringer's Mike Lombardi reports the 49ers have "made it known" ILB Navorro Bowman is available for trade.

He may be "available," but no team is going to trade for Bowman's contract. He signed a seven-year, $77 million deal last August and promptly tore his Achilles' in November. The 49ers have let it be known several times that Bowman is healthy and on track in his recovery, but he's suffered a number of major injuries. Bowman turns 29 this month, and San Fran is switching to a 4-3 front.

Was a great LB, and I'd love to see him as a Chief. No doubt though, another brokedick concern to watch out for.. and probably way too expensive.
