Game of Thrones (spoiler-free zone)
A few have suggested it, might as well test the waters. The idea is to give people who haven't read the books a safe place to talk about the show.
A few quick ground rules:

The TV show is at the best part of book 3. Book 3 is my favorite book of the series, so far. This is the meatier part of the whole show. At least IMHO.

As a non-book reader and just an HBO viewer I always thought that Snow at the Wall in Castle Black and the snow was the worst part of the show. Now that I've read the books, my opinion has changed. Hang in there.

I didn't think Snow was so bad, but he banged Ygrett or however you spell it and stabbed Mance in the back while lighting up some wildlings, that's pretty damn cool. |

I also wonder if Stannis' crew isn't part of a shindig here soon. Maybe they sail north and flank Mance's army and then get butt crunched by white walkers.
That's my official guess. (I know Castle Black is too far away from the ocean). |

I have a question for the book readers and I don't think it has any potential spoilers. When the Mountain was made part of the King's Guard, didn't the Hound become heir to his father's holdings? I realize that him having a price on his head effectively cuts him off from any such claim, but would that not have been the case? If I understand it correctly, he was just bodyguard to Jeoffrey, not a King's Guard nor a knight. Does anyone know the backstory about his rlationship with his father if it doen not impact the future of tale, that is.

Never mind, I see my errors now. I didn't realize they put him in the King's Guard. I also didn't know their father was dead and the holdings already went to Gregor.
