HBO has given the production order.

They will be filming the pilot episode of A GAME OF THRONES.

It's just the pilot so far. They'll need to see that before they decide whether to proceed with a full season's episodes. So let's all hope the pilot will kick serious ass.

It should. David Benioff and Dan Weiss did a terrific job with the script. And yes, all of you can relax, it's very faithful. Dan and David will be the executive producers for the pilot and (we hope) the eventual series.

More details when I have 'em. The news is very fresh. HBO just issued their own press release, which should be up on their website soon, if it's not there already.

Winter is coming to HBO. Hot damn.

Dance was easily the slowest one for me. Which is interesting because it's the first one I had to wait for. Game - Feast were all published once I started reading. Also, I'm a huge fan of Arya. And here story in Feast is outstanding.

I didn't have to wait for Dragons and found it to be a little too bloated for my tastes, although it was still really, really good (just not as amazing as the 1st four). Manderly stuff was pure joy in ADWD and I was glad to get to know Selmy better.

I enjoyed Feast and Dance, and I am heavily invested in the characters so it is all interesting to me even if the books are a bit overdrawn. But they were set-up books, and I don't see how books 6 and 7 can be anything but awesome! There are so many stories I want to see more about and so many threads to tie together. Everything has been set-up so well at this point, he is going to have to move things along unless he decides to go more than 7 books (I hope not). I was just trying to think of all the hanging stories:

All hell is about to break loose in Mereen with Dany and her dragons, the newly found Dothraki, Ser Barristan and the unsullied, the Yukai and the other ones coming to help them, and Victarion and his navy about to crash the party. Plus who knows how Tyrion, Jorah and the second sons will play into the action there.

WTF happened or is going to happen at Winterfell with Stannis and Theon and Asha? Will everybody switch sides during the battle? Will the evil Bolton's survive?

Will Arya return to Westeros as an assasin, and will she find Nymeria?

What will happen with Bran? Will he warg a dragon (I've always thought he would), or what other part does he have to play in the whole thing?

Sansa and Littlefinger havent been heard from in while, what are they up to and is his plan to reveal her as a Stark after marrying her off to get the Vale coming along?

Will Davos find litle Rickon and his wolf?

What is up in Dorne with their plotting, and with the Prince and Connington and their plan to take a castle?

What is going on at the Citadel with Sam, and with Jaquen disguised as Pate, and with one of the sand vipers disguised as the Sphinx? Where's Marwyn?

Jaime and Brienne...WTF is going on with them and zombie Catelyn?

Cersei's trial/battle with the zombie Gregor defending her, and maybe the Hound returning to fight for the church. Plus Kevin is dead, and one of the sand vipers is about to show up to be on the council.

And of course...Is Jon dead? Is he Azor Ahai? Who the heck are his real parents? What's going to happen with the Night's watch and the Wildlings?

Oh yeah...and winter is coming...

Too much great stuff! Can't wait to find out!

I thought it was pretty obvious that Brienne agreed to deliver Jaime to Catelyn when she realized she was about to die and I think that's what she's doing. IIRC, that was the only thing that could save her life and she refused to betray Jaime at first, given she knows he's not all that bad after all, but facing death is a pretty good mind-changer.

I think Jaime will feel too much guilt for what has happened to the Starks and will agree to kill Cersei as a way to pay the the piper. His loyalty was never to his family anyway but only to his sister who he now knows is a huge ****ing whore and a compete buffoon as well.

This will of course satisfy the valonqar prophecy as well.

Of course the fact that it seems obvious may mean it is something else completely! I just wonder what the one word she yelled was, and how it came about. I would have liked to have seen it since Brienne is a POV character.

Jaime killing Cersei seems about right, and it would satisfy the valonquar prophecy. Somehow I don't see Tyrion killing her in the end, so I agree with you on that one, however it comes to pass.

The bad news is you'll be wondering about all this shit for the next five years or so, assuming the world doesn't end or the old bastard doesn't drop dead prior to that.

Well I think the only way she's even alive at this point is that she agreed to bring Jaime back to Lady Stoneheart. Why else would they let her out of the noose? The condition was set for Brienne, she knew what she had to do in order to keep her life. Honestly, I felt worse for Pod than I did for Brienne, I think he's dead though.

Haha, no doubt. I saw a list of top ten nerd worries about the world, and GRRM's health was on the list. Hopefully he has enough of an outline in place that someone could finish it for him if it came to that.
