Damn, first this....
What about Battlestar? I know they are not all rich but I hate the rich bitching about money.

But even if it isn't as good as Day 4 or whatever... like I'm going to change the channel to Reality Show A or Reality Show B or Reality Show C. |

For example, many, many people write for shows. It's generally not just one guy who writes every episode of a television series. So let's say that you're a writer and you're lucky enough to write ONE episode of a popular television series. ONE. Then, that episode is dowloaded by millions, sold on DVD and aired in syndication. Shouldn't that writer receive a share of the DVD profit and download? If not, why not? Should the writer just receive the one-time fee for writing it, while the producers keep would should be additional income for the writer, for themselves? It's a much more complicated issue than "the rich trying to get richer". |

I am just frustrated with it all. Not just writers. Athletes. Unions. Big corps. Just do the right thing and get it over with instead of all this crap.

There's X amount of dollars in the pipeline, all of which are accounted for and divided according to binding, legal agreements. When new sources of revenue become available, that revenue should be share with those individuals who participated in generating the initial income. I think it's completely unfair to say "Oh, no. This is something *new*. You're not allowed to participate." Why not? "Because, I said so". Do you think that's fair? And I mean FAIR? I don't. I just hope the writers don't cave. They're holding all the cards, IMO. |

If they are not getting their cut of that stuff then I agree. I was just stating that whomever needs to do the right thing. That whomever is evidently not the writers. I hope they get a fair cut but I hope this doesn't drag out forever.

What's going to happen is if the strike lasts a while, we are going to see nothing but reality TV. I cannot stand reality tv. Survivor? **** that show. American Idol? **** that show, same with every other crappy ass Reality show. I guess that just gives me more time to play video games. heh
