What I see is you trying to change the subject that was being discussed rather than just admitting the obvious, which is that those who cautioned against buying into the video whole hog were right, and you and the others were wrong.

what did I buy about the story that was wrong? We knew from the start the kid questioned something about the teachers teaching. Now we know it was about packets and not getting as much time on a test. None of that changes anything. The teacher cussing at the student coming out actually does change things. It means the people that were against what the student were the ones who were wrong. Student questions. Teacher responds. Poorly. Situation escalates. Is the student actually in the wrong? Only if you believe students should be mindless zombies and never question anything Posted via Mobile Device |

What I have said if that I can see why he acted that way, right from the start, and now can really see why. Use some common sense, you are acting like he wanted more time on the test and the rant had nothing to do with it. Just out of the blue. Common sense says the rant about packets and feeling that he was not actually being TAUGHT is the reason he questioned the time. Posted via Mobile Device |

Basically I was saying he wasn't wrong to question the teacher in my last post you quoted. And saying that the teacher responding in a manner using profanity escalated the situation.
And must of the guys against the student, you know the ones you were saying were right, were also applauding the teachers handling of the situation. The same teacher that cussed at the student. Yeah those guys were right...rolleyes Posted via Mobile Device |

One of us is posting bullshit excuses and is insisting that this wasn't about what the kid actually said it was about. That would be you. |

he then rants about the teachers teaching methods. Logic would lead one to see how the two would go hand in hand Posted via Mobile Device |

I hated ever class in high school. But, one of the harder ones all the seniors hated was American Government. Teacher was no BS, but she would hold you accountable. Wouldn't give up on you. I loved that class. Took her world history class. Only other class was metal shop where I ended up doing 4hrs a day as independent study. I was going to go to trade school after HS but joined the Navy.
99% of the other classes I didn't learn a damn thing. That being said, I'm more of an artsy person. Musical. Learn by working with my hands and applying what I learned etc. . I don't think I could get through a 4 yr degree even if you paid me. If I can't apply what I'm learning I just don't care. So like, 80% of college lol. More power to those who do. I know I'd never make it. I couldn't remember hardly anything to this day. Almost like an academic blackout. Except for what I mentioned above.

That is also well articulated, and well spoken. Sounded like he had a desire to learn from that diatribe and was clearly frustrated that not enough instruction was being given. I'm siding with the kid so far. I'll have to dive further into this one to know for sure.

Well after diving in and reading what I could find on it, all the facts point toward the student being a **** up, and while it's cool to see he passionately wants to learn even though he struggles with it, he went about it all wrong. He's the bad guy here from what I can see.
That said, his delivery and passion makes me suspicious of the teacher's passion about her job and career. I just can't imagine why on Earth a teacher would do the job for anything less than the satisfaction it gives in pursuing their passion. It's not like public school teachers make shit. It sure as **** ain't the money... |
