Packfan, in response to post #119, That was my point. We don't know for certain why the fans did not show up to the games the past two weeks. Since we don't know for sure, it is premature to say that our fans our not the greatest. Know I am not saying that our fans our the greatest, that argument was started by someone else. I agree with Mizzou5 in #112. All teams have thier bandwagon fans, and all teams have that corps of fans who stay with thier team till death. Those hard corps fans are the greatest fans in the NFL, no matter the team. But I wanted to show you that you can't make the point that our fans aren't the greatest because we don't know why they stayed home. You admitted that yourself. So you can't make your point. Case closed.

Packfan,
I'm not arguing that the Chiefs weren't supported well during the 80's by their fans because they weren't. I remember having to listen to all of the home games on the radio growing up in KC. But I have never seen anyone on this board ever say that the Chiefs fans are the greatest fans. Searching through all of those attendance records does prove that fan interest goes down for every team when that team is having a losing season. But you also have to remember that the KC fans had other sports to turn to when the Chiefs were doing bad like the Royals, Kings(until '85), and Big 8 basketball. In Green Bay, you have the Packers for 8 Sundays a year and that's it. ------------------ It looks I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue! |
