Preseason impression so far?

I know it is early but the offense looks weak on the o-line and conservative.

Defense has the DEs looking bad and the DTs fair.

Nothing spectacular.

1. Fool me once, shame on me.
2. Fool me again, shame on me.

After the 2nd bootleg, I would had stopped calling the DE crashing inside and start worrying about the bootleg. Why the coaches haven't adjusted to that, is unknown to me.
Gunt is a dumbass that has shown over and over again he is either to stubborn or to stupid to adjust.

That's the explanation that has always worked for me.

That's for the last two preseason games.

I'll predict this - when we play Denver in week 2, our defense will not have a look that resembled the one we saw against the Texans last night. We'll have our 'backers and safeties up close to the line, just because of the bootleg.
I'm sorry, but if Gunt could have made adjustments to the bootleg, he would have made them years ago.

Gunt's a dumbass.

I won't argue this opinion now (because it still is just the first preseaon game), but if we get gashed like this again in week 2, I will fully endorse this statement.

I suppose that is correct, somewhat. But I think that it's also that it should be coaches evaluation. I mean, if I was a HC for a certain team, and if my D-Coordinator isn't adjusting to the bootleg, how can we, coaches, evaluate our players performance if they can't do anything right becuase of our D-Coordinator not calling the right defensive schemes?

I'll have to kindly disagree on the Denver game. Denver is more talented than the Texans are at this point, and I'm afraid that they'll be bootlegging as long as they please, just like they have been for the past few years.

Now think about how comfortable Printers must be when he had Jordan Black protecting his blind-side.

Gimmie a fuggin break, our back-up O-Line couldn't even ocassionally run block, and deftinaly can't pass block. Let's see how Printers can be when he actually have a o-line to give him at least 4-5 seconds to throw the ****ing football.
Oh boy....another Printers apologist....

I don't care if he has 7 seconds to throw the ball, he still would throw it short....he had time on several plays to do something and each time he either short-armed the ball, and completely misread the receiver. And the interception was an absolute idiotic throw.

No one is saying that Printers isn't capable of being a good player...but he has on 2 or 3 games to show his stuff, and in Game 1 he pretty much showed nothing but one very nicely thrown ball for 50 yards.

Why is there always a mess to clean up every time a new coach comes in?

First it was the thugs that Marty left behind, then it was the overall mess that Gun left behind and now it’s the defensive mess that Vermeil left behind.

Where’s the Chiefs GM that had 16 years to prevent the “messes”? Why is there always a mess to cleanup when the GENERAL MANAGER remains the same?

I'm not looking for an answer just bitching. Seems like the same shit, different year.

Hicks can't play anymore. He simply cannot hold up against the run at the point of attack and he no longer has the lateral speed. I tivo'd the game and slow mo'd several plays. Hicks gets blown off the LOS consistantly (three to 10 yards!!) by the OT!! . Just awful.

What's to say Hicks is crashing because the coaches are telling him to? maybe they're telling him to keep contain on the backside, and he just doesn't have the discipline to ignore the pulling linemen.
