By the time I'd figured it out, I'd saved over my previous save. |

I started playing some a couple days ago and am having a really hard time with ammo. I love the sniper rifle and chinese assault rifle, but keep running out of ammo for them and have to resort to my silenced 10mm, which takes a lot of shots to make the kill. I didn't realize how many of those damn ants I would have to kill in the sub station and was down to only having 80 rounds of 10mm and that is it, used the ripper to finish the last 5 of them off.
I might have gone wrong in allocating my points starting out....I went really high on intel and maxxed it out, but didn't know about the things that raise them permenantly, so I wish I would have went for a litte lower there. |

Anyone played with the fortune finder, scrounger perks? What kind of return can you see? It says significantly more, but how much is significantly? And anyone got the lawbringer perk? I got it, but I can't remember who will buy the bad guy fingers. |

Imagine my suprise when I came out on the other side of the sub station and ran into the paladins and mutants there. The first time the paladin ran off and the mutants roasted me, so I reloaded and was a little more ready for them and helped the paladin take them out. Then I went to try to find the lost guy and took out 3 more witht he paladin and he died, so I pressed on (planning to reload from save) and took out another pack of three playing peek-a-boo and tearing them up with the ripper. I'm looking forward to going back there when I am outfit a little more and stocked to the gills with ammo.
I am trying to decide if I would be better off starting over now and re-doing my S.P.E.C.I.A.L again. I like the intelligence, but would like a little more agility now for more vats, and would definately be a little more ammo conservative with the good stuff. I'll start whacking moles with bats isntead of capping them, etc. |

Ohhh, and for people that hate lockpicking, I learned a much better way to do it than what it said in the little first timer tutorial.
It said to use w,a,s,d keys to feel your way through it and I was snapping off picks like crazy. When I realized you can use the mouse (or controller I guess) to move the pin around and test each angle until you don't see it wiggle things got waaaaay easier. There are also some really nice ways to make hacking easier, but I'll leave those out unless someone asks for them specifically. |

The game is kind of a cross between Escape from New York and Mad Max movies. The more I play, the better it gets. This really is survival of the fittest.

Wow, reading some of your stuff there is so much more out there that I still have to learn...like hacking, I haven't even tried that yet.
I did go to the train station and come out and got slaughtered by mutants... I do have a question, I'm going to put this in a spoiler thing so people who are behind me dont have to read this, but FMB, or allen, or BigChiefFan, this should be spoiler free for you...
Spoiler!

I haven't done that part, I'm still supposed to do the mole repelling.
I started hacking early on, in the mega mart or whatever it is called. I failed and locked out the first one, but spent a lot more time on the second terminal in the Rx room and got it. |

I really need to stock up on ammo before going out on those missions....By the time I died, I only had a few bullets left...I have a feeling that there is other stuff I can be doing first before going out there to boost up my HP level and whatnot... |

OK, if you're running short on ammo constantly, I can't recommend enough the scavenger perk.

Totally agree with the previous post. Get that perk as soon as it becomes available. You get ALOT more ammo with it.
