Raiders Trade for Carson Palmer
Per Rotoworld, the Raiders are close to acquiring Carson Palmer.

On my phone, so no link, but what the hell do the Raiders have left to trade?

Oh, AND, during the middle of a season, after months of Palmer sitting around......

Raiders have 7.5 million + I guaranteed 1st rounder and a conditional ... If Palmer comes in here and lights it up then who cares about the picks. Raiders have 13 former first round picks on this team, they will be fine. The only way the Raiders lose in this deal is if Palmer just flat out sucks. Hell it would have cost 5 million to pay Orton for the rest of the year.....

p.s. you guys have 60+ million invested in that pocket sloth of a qb you have.

ALAMEDA, Calif. — The final year of Nnamdi Asomugha's record contract with the Oakland Raiders is no longer in force because the cornerback didn't reach certain incentives.

Raiders senior executive John Herrera confirmed Sunday that the contract was voided, making Asomugha a free agent. ESPN first reported the development.

That sounds to me like the contract was terminated by the Faiders. Don't see how they would get compensatory pick on a player whose contract they voided.
