Early Afternoon Bullshit: Who's planning to attend the playoff game?

Granted, nothing is set in stone yet as far as positioning is concerned, but who's thinking of making a trip to see the Wild Card game?

Per cdcox, we're around 96% to end up the 5th seed, and Indy is 88% to finish as the 4th seed. I've already booked a room in both Indy and Cincinnati, just to make sure I'm covered - and to get something booked before prices rise even further.

After doing some research, you can plan on spending a pretty penny in Indy - downtown hotels are obnoxiously expensive - $150 and up for Saturday night. Only way to stay cheap is to stay 6-7 miles away out by the airport and drive in on gameday. Cincinnati is cheaper, but downtown options are pretty limited.

So - who's going?

We should all chip in and fly Hometeam out to the game. Dude's like 11-0 in Chiefs games.

I got mine for 90 bucks on stubhub Sunday night cuz I was afraid they would go quick. Wish I would've waited and bought mine on ticketmaster now. Oh well.

Just scored 4 section 210 behind chiefs bench. Now we need a game plan on the pre game. Bar or tailgate?

Ticketmaster has a ton of face value tickets left

Don't waste your time tailgating, they really don't know how to tailgate well here in Indy and there really aren't that many good places to tailgate like there are in KC.

I would just go the Sports Bar route....there are several good places in downtown. And I am betting they close off Georgia Street and have some temp places set up there also.

Just know you are going to be outnumbered probably 10 to 1.

When I heard that the lame-ass Colts fans couldn't even sell out a playoff game and that tickets were going at face value, I actually looked into airfare from LAX. Reasonable fares around 275...and I have friends in Indianapolis so a place to stay wouldn't be a problem.

Then last night my wife and I did our January family budget.

I'll be watching from the man cave! Love you guys who are going, though. I want to hear you!!!

This will be my fourth Chiefs game since living in Indy. The only time the tailgating has been good here is when we took over a surface lot - and the lot we always used to take over is now being built into apartments or someother nonsense.

It's going to be cold, miserable, and with the downtown location that chill is amplified. Haven't heard if they are doing anything with Georgia St. or not but if they do they usually have some of our local breweries set up.

I say we agree on a bar and take that over. I'm friends with the owner of Scotty's Brewpub and he might swing us some deals if there are enough of us or there is the Tilted Kilt, Kilroys, and several others.

And as was stated earlier in this thread, we will be outnumbered and be prepared to have poorly prepared ribs thrown at you and drunken Colts fans half your size pick fights.

Depending on how many of us will be there, we could do several options.....we could take over one of the bars like you mentioned....or we could get them to close off one of the sections in the Colts Grille downtown and have some pre-game fun there.

I am guessing that because it is a Playoff Game and there will be a lot of the TV crews there and the trucks are going to take up normally used space, that Georgia Street will become a Pedestrian area with no car traffic. It won't be like the Super Bowl festivities, but you are probably going to see the TV set ups in the same spot as they had College GameDay.

I wore my Chief's toboggan, gloves and coat to work yesterday....and had it on when I went to the store today (I have today and tomorrow off). Been catching a little grief, but for the most part there are a lot of overconfident Colt fans here in Indy. Most are already chalking this one up as a win and making plans where to head next. It would serve them right if we went in and took one away from them.

Oh....and if you are downtown on Friday they are having a Pep Rally at the Circle Centre Mall. The Colts Cheerleaders and Blue are supposed to be there. I am thinking that since I work in the PNC Bank building I might just amble over there for a little fun. Wanna join me?

Those who have been to the stadium before...do we need to bring a coat/jacket into the game, or is it pretty comfortable inside? I'm a STH at Arrowhead and I'm used to wearing layers upon layers, so indoor football is foreign to me.

Depends on whether or not they decide to open any part of the stadium. I am guessing that considering how miserable the weather is supposed to be, they will keep the stadium closed. Depending on where you are staying you may not need your coat at all.

If you are staying at one of the downtown hotels (Conrad,Hyatt, Marriott, Embassy, etc) there are covered walkways everywhere. In fact if you stay at the Circle Centre area or park there, all you have to do is take the walkways to the Convention Center and there is an underground entrance into the stadium there, so you never have to go outside if you don't want to.
