Sure... it could be that's it's not going to happen, but I think you'd have heard about it by now. You know... just to rule it out, and change the focus to other targets.

Personally, I like the way Clark has handled this. Very businesslike. He's not the type to be running his mouth about a deal that may not get done.

What if they're waiting till after the playoff games this weekend to hold a press conference? I've heard nothing concrete that rules him out. It seems it's us, or he stays with the Pats.

And even if it doesn't work out... he's the sexy pick. (Admittedly, my choice) But it's not like he's football Jesus. If we fail to land him... it doesn't automatically mean that we'll get a horrible GM. (and HC)

The New England executive is considered the top general manager candidate available and his hiring would give the Chiefs instant credibility.

And that's what it is for me; this hire screams it loud and clear:

"Bullshit time is OVER, this is the future, and if you're an FA worth your weight in gold, this is the place you want to be".

I could never be a fan of another AFC West team, so the Faiders are out. But I want a team that wears black. Pittsburgh? Nah, they got that god damned, old-school gold in their shit too...

I wish I could say this surprises me, but I think Clark's feelings about Herm were pretty clear when he didn't get whacked at the end of the season. How ****ing depressing.

Oddly enough, and in the wake of the Suck-Fest that has been the 2007-2008 seasons, I set up a hypothetical post on a different forum whereby everyone had to choose a new team in the wake of a total AFC West disbandment.

I went with Detroit because I've come to view them as kind of NFC sister city, and because they're mid west, and because of Motown and muscle cars; things I can respect, etc.
