Geno Smith vs Alex Smith - It's on.

It's on now. Geno Smith is probably going to be starting for the Jets this season.

Alex Smith will be the Chiefs QB for the forseeable future. If he's a success, we'll probably get five good years out of him.

So who's gonna win more NFL games over that time period?

Put your ten pounders on the table and make a vote

Alex: 11 wins
Geno: 8 wins

I'm be yearning for a QB that can pull a game like that out for a decade and people here piss it away

I also think Geno deserves come credit for drawing the penalty by putting pressure on the defense. Similar to a pass rusher drawing a holding penalty. When a 4.5 guy is hauling ass down the side line the defense is flying over to try to make sure he doesn't bust one like what happened with Matthews/Kaep.
Didn't say that. Yes he gets credit for a nice scramble. He doesn't get credit for a stupid penalty on the other team. Also, if he didn't turn the ball over inside the five yard line on a terrible pocket presence play, and throw a horrible pick, he wouldn't have had to have that scramble because the Bucs were so inept.

I think you are wrong about the last part though. There are several people here to truly believe we have to draft a QB to ever win a Superbowl. Bray will never be enough for them.

Ultimately, none of this is worth talking about. We have three quarterbacks the new regime likes, Geno is far from KC, and it realistically appears that we won't be drafting or signing a QB for a while. If we start winning consistently, the "draft a QB" dead horse beaters are going to look like idiots.

I guess it's time for me to move on from the Geno talk. It's a waste of time.
we know exactly how you feel about geno bob.

So late heroics don't make up for early turnovers? Interesting theory. I'm sure all those legends with dozens of 4th quarter comebacks had nothing to do with being behind in the 4th quarter to begin with.

yes he was. But Alex smith had a more efficient game, no turnovers that kept the game close, and a higher QB rating for the one game. I'm not a Geno hater or Alex Smith lover. I think the chiefs did the best for them at the time. I'm responding to Claydusche because he proclaims victory on total yards passed, and looks like an idiot doing so.

Yeah I understand that. I love Geno's physical tools. I just don't think he can command an offense and pick apart a defense the way those guys can. If I'm wrong I'll be the first one in here to eat crow.

It says Alex Smith played at a low end Pro Bowl level, and Geno Smith played at a just barely below average level (of course, that's just their assumption that 60+ = Pro Bowl worthy and 50 = average).

Oh......you mean that trait I hyped up? The one where the guy gets in to gear when the chips are down, and pulls the rabbit out of his ass?

That one?

Yeah, who the **** would want THAT?

If Geno doesn't get that 15 yard flag and the Jets lose, are we having this discussion?
