Yeah now he will put all the other little pieces together that have been right in front of him for a long while. The only reason he never put them together before was because of his perception of Walter as a pushover dorky family type guy.

Right. Once there's an inkling there's other obvious dots that can be connected. The science lab at the school. The money allegedly won. The marital problems, etc.

A lot of show is sort of cartoonish in my opinion. Cooking meth in the RV, Walt throwing chemicals on the ground to cause an explosion, the magnetized truck, etc. In a good way. They want to tell an entertaining story.
