Well, it'll take a full season before he can be relied upon to close again. That said, sooner or later, Rosenthal & Martinez will move to the rotation. Too many starters: its a nice problem to have.

He's a FA in 2015. You won't get anything for him in a trade. IMO, I think the move is to try and get Carlos, Rosenthal, or both in the rotation, and let your glut of power arms in the bullpen solve the 9th by itself.

So, go with Lynn game 4, or Wainwright on short rest? I don't like sending pitchers out on 3 days, but Wainwright might be an exception.

Lynn. Buchholz is busted up and Waino has thrown more innings than anyone in baseball this year.

Shelby is a nightmare matchup against the Red Sox because he racks up huge pitch counts and they take everything.

If it goes seven you can get two innings from Waino since it would be his side day.

If it were to go seven you could conceivably just do this:

Kelly until the first sign of trouble
Wainwright for 30 pitches
Shelby for an inning or two.
Siegrist and Choate for lefties
Carlos for the 8th
Rosenthal for the 9th

As much as you don't like him I agree that Lynn is the obvious call. He still may have something left in the tank.
