That would be a positive development for the Missouri Basketball program. Ergo, it is impossible. I have no doubts that some ****stick at the PD has floated another rumor with no substance and we shall soon be quite disappointed. (But I just got hard at the idea of Fuller bringing Purvis with him...)

Guess it's official now:
http://www.uoflsports.com/sports/m-b...1311aab.html#_ Assistant Coach Tim Fuller Leaves for Missouri Masiello also left Monday to become head coach at Manhattan April 13, 2011 LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Tim Fuller, an assistant men's basketball coach at the University of Louisville for the past year, has left the Cardinals for a similar position at the University of Missouri under new head coach Frank Haith. "Frank Haith has been like a father to me." said Fuller. "He's been a part of my life since I was a freshman in college and has helped mentor, advise and direct me in every aspect as a person and professionally. I'm so thankful for everything that Coach Pitino has done for me at Louisville. He's helped change my way of thinking and drive me toward perfection. At this time in my life, being with Frank Haith at Missouri is a family decision and it's the best fit for us right now." "We wish Tim nothing but the best," said U of L Head Coach Rick Pitino. "He's fine human being. He's going to be with someone very close to him and we wish him great success." Fuller is the second Cardinal assistant to depart following the Cardinals' 25-10 season. Steve Masiello, who was an assistant with U of L for six seasons, was named the head coach of Manhattan College on Monday. Masiello is the 25th former Pitino assistant or player to become a collegiate head coach. In addition, current assistant coach Mark Lieberman will move to the Cardinals' Director of Basketball Operations position. Pitino will announce his complete staff in the next few weeks. A graduate of Wake Forest (2000), Fuller was an NBA sports marketing field representative for Nike for two years prior to joining the Cardinals' staff. He has also worked as a volunteer assistant basketball coach at North Carolina A&T (2000-01), an assistant at West Forsyth High School in Clemmons, N.C., an assistant coach at Elon, Director of Basketball Operations at the University of Miami (Fla.) under Haith, Director of Basketball Operations for two seasons at Wake Forest, and as an assistant coach at Fairfield (Conn.) University for one year (2006-07). |

Louisville fans' worst nightmare may have just been realized. We told you yesterday that the University of Missouri and new head coach Frank Haith were very interested in hiring current Louisville assistant Tim Fuller. Now, according to foxsports.com and Jeff Goodman, Fuller has reportedly accepted a position on Haith's staff and will be leaving for Columbia. Maybe it was their "winning tradition" or rabid fan base and frequent sell-out's that drew him to the Tigers. Of course I'm being sarcastic as they have one of the worst fan bases in all of major college basketball and never sell out their home games. Honestly speaking, I would guess Missouri offered a much higher ranking position on its staff. On our show last week Fuller himself said he was probably "on the lowest rung of the coaching ladder and had to work himself up eventually." No doubt that Haith probably made him an offer he couldn't refuse and it's a step closer to becoming a head coach, which is his ultimate goal. This is a crushing blow to the recruiting efforts of U of L, particularly among the 2012-2013 classes. The main concern for cardinal fans is how this will effect the commitments for 2012 - particularly Rodney Purvis, who he was instrumental in recruiting from the get-go. Fuller's connections with The North Carolina area and current NBA star, Chris Paul, were major factors in Purvis committing to Louisville. No doubt this will cause a chain reaction of coaching moves around college basketball and LSL will keep a close eye on the situation to see how it all unfolds. |

Mizzou's a solid basketball school. It's note elite, but it's quite good.

Nice hire with Fuller, MU fans. Should help take a bit of the sting off from the Haith hire.

I'll believe this when I see it. Fortunately for them, the bar has been set ridiculously low.
Three top-20 recruits are coming out of the state of Missouri this year, and not one is staying in state. Inexcusable. There is so damn much talent in Missouri alone that locking it down would create a consistent power. |
