What a hideous trade. Anything short of a Super Bowl is a massive failure now. Not to mention Cassel was legitimately better than Palmer last year. Unless they still have some Rich Gannon miracle potion left in the training room they still might have the 4th best QB in the division.

7.5 million dollars and two potential first round picks that could cost you 100 million on top of that if the Raiders finish close to the top in standings, those picks are not like a pick that would be coming from the Chiefs or Donkeys

2 4th round picks for carson palmer would be outrageous.

Have the Raiders used 3 of their 2012 pics on QBs?

I see your point, but he is better than Boller and kinda knows the offense.

Updating a previous report, the Oakland Raiders will give up another first-round pick in the 2013 NFL Draft to the Cincinnati Bengals if they win a playoff games this season as compensation for QB Carson Palmer. If the Raiders don't win a playoff game, the Bengals will receive a second-round pick in 2013. Palmer was willing to restructure his contract, which would pay him $6.9 million for the balance of the year.

The future draft picks don't matter so much because their cap is wrecked

This isn't a good move. You can try to spin it. Palmer hasn't been good for a long time. He has battled injuries and he just retired rather than play football. He has been sitting on the couch for 10 months. He hasn't been in meetings anywhere, and certainly not in the Raiders meetings. The Raiders still have issues in the secondary. The Raiders are still a few players away from really contending for a Super Bowl. If the Raiders win a single playoff game, they have given up two first round picks to do so. Yeah, keep telling yourself how smart the Raiders are.

Other than left tackle Jared Veldheer, the ENTIRE Raiders' offensive line has a negative pass blocking grade this year.

under the circumstances, yes IMO. if he does that after being out of football for nearly a year and with only 3-4 days prep time with the offense...
if the Chiefs give up those kind of numbers to a guy like that under these conditions, Romeo and our defense should be shot with an AIDS tipped bullet. my point was if there's a way for the Chiefs D to scrwe it up, they will. they always do. |
