Agreed. Remember, Alex isn't a burner either (he ran a 4.7 40) and he's made some big plays on his legs. It's more about running intelligently than it is torching a defense.

He moves well in the pocket and on rollouts, and he can pick up yardage with his legs when he has to.

Given that he didn't participate in the combine, we don't have any numbers on his athleticism, but from what I've read, he's supposed to be a sneaky good athlete.

He's not slow and he's not awkward.

He just doesn't always play smart.

The thing about Smith isn't just that he's athletic. He knows when and what he wants to do with the ball. He's decisive and if it's not there, he's going to take what he can get.

Aaron Murray has been the opposite of that for most of his college career. I'm not saying he can't improve but there's people here that are acting like he can walk in day 1 and assume the #2 QB role in Andy Reid's offense. It isn't happening.

Once every blue moon.

Trent Green had 243 rushing attempts for his entire career and averaged about 28 rushes per year in KC.

Alex Smith had 76 attempts last year. Donovan McNabb had over 700 rushing attempts in his career and averaged just under 60 rushes per year, despite having several injury plagued years late...
