No offense, but there isn't a snowball's chance in hell that he was offered 7 and $20. That's close to a $3MM average for a Coach that has NEVER taken his current team to the NCAA tourney. Okay, back to reality

KSN reported he turned down 1.9 million a year offer from NC State, which is more believable. |

My son gave me a shirt back when WSU made a run to the final eight a few years back. I wear it often now that I live in North Carolina. The other day a guy asked me "what is arch madness?" I looked down at the shirt and that is what it says I never noticed. I do not follow basketball and have no idea why it says arch madness instead of march madness. My only guess is they played in St Louis but am to lazy to look it up~

Shocks get their first 2012 commit, Fred van Vleet, #1 PG out of Illinois
http://www.kansas.com/2011/07/04/192...d-commits.html Illinois HS point guard commits to WSU 0 Comments BY PAUL SUELLENTROP The Wichita Eagle Wichita State won one and lost one in the recruiting arena on Monday. Rockford (Ill.) senior-to-be point guard Fred Van Vleet committed to Wichita State, according to several sources. The Shockers, however, didn't land forward Andre Walker, who offered the prospect of immediate help for the frontcourt. Walker, a transfer from Vanderbilt, chose Xavier over WSU, Marquette and Northwestern, according to ESPN Chicago's Scott Powers. Van Vleet (5-foot-11, 175 pounds) is a senior in the class of 2012 at Rockford Auburn High. He averaged 18.6 points, 7.5 assists and 5.1 rebounds, according to the Rockford Register Star, and was a second-team all-state pick by the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association. According to Chicagohoops.com, Van Vleet is the top point guard in Illinois and No. 2 among all players. Van Vleet credited WSU assistant coach Dana Ford, an native of Illinois. "The past two months, me and him have built a strong relationship without him blowing me up all the time," Van Vleet told Chicagohoops.com. "I know I am going into a great situation and he will be like a big brother to me." Van Vleet gained a lot of attention with his performance at the Nike Spring Showdown in April in Merrilville, Ind. The Chicago Sun-Times' Hoops Report picked him as the tournament's MVP. "The 5-11 junior is as savvy and as pure a point guard as there in the Class of 2012," Joe Henrickson of the Sun-Times wrote. "His vision and passing, along with his feel and basketball I.Q., are off the charts. More importantly, Van Vleet shot the ball better than any other time Hoops Report has watched him over the past few years and played with consistent energy." Van Vleet can sign a letter of intent beginning Nov. 9. WSU coaches cannot comment on him until they receive his letter. Walker (6-7, 220 pounds) is eligible this season after graduating from Vanderbilt. He could have filled a need for the 2011-12 Shockers. He visited WSU last week. Instead, he will play for Xavier. "They're going to be a good team this year," his father, Andre Walker Sr., told ESPN Chicago. "He gets a chance to play his natural role, 3 or 4."
