May be going to jail for awhile
Actually just got out yesterday morning after spending a night but depending on the judge's mood I could go back for a long time.

I put my ex-wife's boyfriend in the hospital Thursday evening for slapping my 11 year old daughter across the face. She called me crying about 7PM saying he slapped her for telling her mom to shut up. She also informed me he spanked my 6 year old son about a month before that but didnt tell me because her mom made her promise she wouldnt. I went over there and confronted him about it. He denied it, then my daughter came outside and I could still see the hand print on her face. The whole thing got bad quick. I used no restraint and by the time my ex's neighbor pulled me off of him he was coughing up blood. My lawyer informed me that he had a collapsed lung, broken nose, broken orbital bone near his left eye, broken collar bone, and a ruptured spleen. I only hope the judge has a daughter and can be reasonable and understand my side. I go back to court March 8th.

I totally understand where MTG is coming from. When it comes to family, personal justice is the usual outcome.

Ask Lumpy.
A guy she dated once decided to try and go a little too far and hit her. (A few months before we met) he was stalking her as well and I found out. He spent considerable time in the ER I'm sure.
Dudes with long hair are fun to beat. It's like having a handle on a heavy bag.
To this day I doubt he has any clue who the **** I was.

That being said, when it comes to your children, you have to weigh the consequences.

Yep.

"never admit guilt" like this is going to trial or something. The night he spent in jail is the only time he'll do. He's not going to lose his kids either.

It is pretty possible that you get your ass sued to the ground in civil court though.

When you're in a rage and the adrenaline is flowing, you don't stop until somebody isn't moving. I don't know how this is going to play out legally and I don't really care. I would hope I'm never in this situation. It is currently 2012, not 1812. Wild West justice seldom works out for the good guys. I'd like to think I would be more responsible than MTG in this situation but I can easily see how a male can get worked up enough to do the same thing.

Agree with this. If my ex's bf did this to my daughter I don't know exactly what I'd do but I'd want to make him suffer pretty badly. That said MTG went overboard imo but like you said... adrenaline plus rage plus the protective nature of being a parent can equal a bad outcome.

I once tackled a kid a little too hard after he tackled my brother a little too hard but we were playing football so there was no jail time.
