Clark Hunt met with Marty?

http://www.kctv5.com/story/20058706/...schottenheimer

KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -
Chiefs fans are excitedly buzzing about whether team owner Clark Hunt is preparing to offer former coach Marty Schottenheimer the general manager position or get his help on reversing the team's declining fortunes.

SiriusXM NFL Radio reported that Schottenheimer was at Arrowhead Stadium on Friday to meet with Hunt, who is in Kansas City. This set Chiefs fans on Twitter and Facebook afire.

The team flatly denies that Schottenheimer was at the practice facility today.

However, left unclear was whether Schottenheimer and Hunt met at a different location, met earlier this week or whether they have a meeting later this week.

General Manager Scott Pioli is under fire after the Chiefs 1-7 start and a disappointing four-year tenure in Kansas City after he left the New England Patriots.

Tell us what you think. Should the Chiefs bring back "Martyball" or hire Schottenheimer as a consultant? Go to

If you are referring to chip Kelly, you're off on that one.

He's proven that he's a great coach and has multiple gm's stating how much they would like to hire him

If you were going to consult with anyone over why KC has won or failed who would be the guy?

Marty was both the zenith and the zero.

I'd bring in both Marty and DV (the only two HC's who ever managed to build impressive teams in the last 30 years) to consult with.

We know why they won. Don't ask them that.

Ask them why they failed...

Yup. Two years ago the Donx were buried with the stench of McDouchebag and everyone was saying it would take them years to dig out of it.

The next year they were winning a playoff game. With Tebow.

The year after that they were the most desirable destination for the greatest free agent in NFL history.

Now they're in prime position to make a superbowl run.

All it takes is the right leadership and the right coaching staff to get you back in the race, and finding a QB to win the race...

This.

Carl did it with an elderly Joe.

This franchise hasn't taken a risk to land a legit QB since...

I dont disagree there, but asking them to lead your franchise in a new era is laughable.

The NFL is a fast moving progressive league now. You need young minds with agressive personalities to win.

No control freaks or historical losers.

I agree BUT the OLD MARTY came out in the playoff game against the Jets when instead of going for 1 yard on 4th and 1 deep in Jets territory, and extending what possibly could have been the game winning drive, (and he had L.T.), he chose to kick a field goal for the tie (with a rookie kicker). Missed kick - game OVER. Marty out of San Diego.

Vermeil didn't build shit in St. Louis. That was John Shaw.

Shaw traded for Marshall Faulk, signed Trent Green, signed Kurt Warner the year before, drafted Torry Holt and hired Mike Martz, Green's QB coach in Washington, as the Offensive Coordinator, ALL in 1999.

He pushed out Vermeil immediately after the Super Bowl. Martz got them back in the Super Bowl in 2002.

Vermeil never won a playoff game with the Chiefs in five years and had THREE non-winning seasons.

And didn't win any of them.

Who has done that?

And it wasn't three, it was two.

And Bill Parcells did it with the Giants, Patriots and Jets.
