And FTR I agree with this.

I disagree that it's genetic that you have to feel insulted by it...

You can't choose your feelings, really. They're called feelings, they are largely psychological reactions. You can choose how to react, handle and funnel those feelings, but they are visceral phenomena.

But this is all aside from the point -- you clearly agree with me that "redskin" is a derogatory slur. So why would you defend it as an NFL team name?

If you talked to somebody who's ever been subjected to a slur, hearing the word thrown at you personally makes you feel threatened and devalued. That's why the word is used in the first place.

If you haven't talked to somebody who's been subjected to a slur, I really recommend it. You probably have a woman in your home; you could start there.

Now, I doubt anybody feels threatened by the team name and logo, but derogatory slurs by their very nature are devaluing of a class of people, by calling them out of the color of their skin.

So when a black man calls another black man ****er they are enraged, insulted, and angered every time because it's emotional and can't be controlled.

Right?...

I just see what everyone else sees. You're a terribly unhappy person and project it all over this board.

Have you ever considered counseling? It might help.
