I think the Chiefs could win one with him sure, but I don't think they should pay him what he wants.

I don't understand What the big deal is with signing Albert to a Duane brown deal.
Brown got 22 million guaranteed in his deal. Albert is on the franchise tag that is just shy of 10 million and it's all guaranteed. Just with this years deal, they are almost half way there on the guaranteed money. |

I don't even care about Albert anymore.
I figured he would be traded as soon as he was tagged anyways. I was the guy who was like "well, that probably means they didn't want to lose him and get nothing in return." If we can squeeze the #38 out of a guy we had no intentions of resigning...good for us |

My only hope is that we turn the Albert pick into something worth losing a solid left tackle for.

I don't know that. I really don't trust Rappaport though. If another guy comes out with it then I suppose there's some real validity.

Albert for Alex Smith is fair enough for me...
still hoping we don't take Joeckel at #1 and we can trade down but I don't see that happening |

You're gonna give a often injured LT who is not elite and just had back problems an elite contract like Duane Brown?
Idk how people can justify that at all.

Just finish this shit so we can move on.
Albert never impressed me, nor did he disappoint me (very often). He is but a fart in the wind. |

You're gonna trade for an often injured QB who is not elite and has concussions problems for two 2nd round picks?
Idk how people can justify that at all.

I can see why everyone enjoyed your ban. You've never been above the deep end on solid ground have you? Can't even say you've gone off.

Trading Albert makes no sense if they're really in "win now" mode. They're going to be starting a new pair of tackles, and I don't care if he's going 1 or not, whoever it is, Joeckel or Fisher, is a project heading into 2013. Hell, the entire line is projects now. No wonder they haven't signed Alex Smith to an extension. He might be kindling by week 6. You can talk all you want about how he isn't worth Duane Brown money, or he isn't a top-5 tackle, but the reality is that they're dealing, by far, the best lineman that they have. And the end result is that the unit as a whole is likely going to get weaker, not stronger, regardless of how amazing people think whatever middling tackle they select at 1.1 may be eventually.
