Well thats silly. I know theres been a lot of talk of him being the first pick. Mcshay mentioned it the other day. Scott wright has him going to us. Maybe Mel Kiper and Mayock don't, but their resumes speak for themselves - they don't know what they are talking about.

No. they are quite easily linked. especially if you think Geno is as a good a player as some do. Who knows what next year will bring. We may not be in a position to draft a qb next year. specifically one such as Geno. Then what?? Wait till we suck again to draft one? Well were in a perfect position to do that this year and besides, if you dont take Geno, then who do you take? In your opinion..

The Bills have been awfully quiet throughout this entire process.

The Sam Bradfords, Matt Staffords, and Matt Ryans of previous classes were not these sparkling sure fire prospects without flaws that are superior to Geno Smith in every way. Ther are only a couple of QBs in the 10 years prior to last year that would clearly grade out higher.

Alex Smith is Matt Cassel with less charisma and leadership skills. Since Matt was drafted in the MLB, probably less atheletic as well. They both blow 70% of their starting years.

Mike Mayock is a PERFECT example of how much Geno's stock is rising.
Six weeks ago, Mayock didn't consider Geno Smith a first-round talent (this was before he had broken down Geno or many others players, but still was spitting out mocks and being pissy in wording them). A week ago, before the combine, after watching 6 games, Mayock said Geno was worthy of pick No. 20-32. Yesterday, on NFL Network, he calls him a top 10 pick/talent in this draft. You can throw McShay into the mix, too. Don't listen to the experts. Especially when they're talking about guys in December and January. Mel Kiper had Manti Te'o - who plays a non-impact position and is a below-average athlete for the position - as his top player on the board in December. Why does ANYONE place ANY stock in what he was saying about other players at that point? Kiper will probably be the LAST guy to admit Geno Smith is a top 10 pick. But he will, just like everyone else.

I just cant understand the logic. The only way i would even entertain it, is if there was a worthwhile replacement pick. there is not. there is no Calvin Johnsons or Clowneys etc. None. Just boring linemen, who havnt decided championships in decades.

I'm sure a Q but:
Jason La Canfora@JasonLaCanfora The Alex Smith trade is not with Arizona, to be clear again. The Cards offer was weak. 49ers told people its not AZ. KC remains likely team

Also... I can stomach trading for Alex Smith IF they're still drafting a QB at No 1 (I prefer Geno, but if Barkley wows throwing the ball or Reid likes him more, I can live with it) and IF this whole rumor about Alex Smith wanting an extension from whomever acquires him BEFORE the season is b.s.
But if trading for Alex Smith means signing him to a big extension before the season starts AND that the Chiefs instead draft a developmental guy in Round 3 or later, hell no. DO... NOT... WANT.
