When reports emerged that Vikings running back Adrian Peterson missed practice and traveled to South Dakota due to a “medical issue involving [a] young family member that likely will be a police matter,” several tipsters linked the news to reports from Sioux Falls of a man named Robert Joseph Patterson charged with aggravated assault and aggravated battery of an infant, who is in critical condition.

TMZ reports that the link indeed exists, and that Peterson’s two-year-old son is in critical condition after being severely beaten, allegedly by Patterson.

Per the report, Peterson’s son suffered severe head injuries.

We continue to wish Adrian Peterson and his family the best as they deal with, if the report is accurate, an unimaginable situation.

Of course I do. Not that its any of your business.

I don't pay "child support" but it doesn't stop me from buying her things, spending time with her, she is as much of a part of my family as she can be.

My daughter has a mother that supports her very well, and a boyfriend that also treats her very well, and they both support her.

She prolly is the most financially supported Girl in Wisconsin.

You can blame the mother for not more thoroughly checking out her boyfriend.

Im sure that's the BLAME that will placed on her.

I think we define "deadbeat" differently. My "dad" was a "deadbeat", he never made any attempt to be part of my life, nor did he help my mom at all, as a matter of fact when she was getting ready to graduate from pharmacy school he came over in the middle of the night and took her car so she couldn't get to school for finals. Now THAT is a deadbeat. I wouldn't pee in his mouth if his gums were on fire.

Yeah. I take real exception to being called a dead beat. My dad, showed up when I was 3 months old to tell my mother that he had knocked another lady up and needed a divorce. No child support, no money, no visits.

That's a DEAD BEAT.

I know of hundreds and hundreds of cases just in MO. The circumstances are always the same. New boyfriend left alone with a child who is from a previous relationship. The child is brought to the hospital unconscious, has a terrible closed head injury. Boyfriend says the kid fell and hit his head on a table, when he was actually thrown against the fireplace hearth.

In many workshops ive attended, It is likened to the lion pride, where, if a new dominant male defeats the existing dominant male and takes over the pride, the first order of business is the new dominant male kills all the offspring of the previous male.
