Apparently, teams were pre-qualified by Manning prior to any visits. When Condon was contacted by the 12 teams, he told them that the contract Manning was starting at was 5 for 90 and going from there.

Teams either had to say in or out at that point.

From there, Manning narrowed his selections.

I was told this from someone yesterday, and then today on Twitter, a great guy to follow, Andrew Brandt commented on it as well. I was leery about what I was told, but this guy confirmed it.

The Chiefs never got past the pre-qualified stage.

Seattle did, but when Manning narrowed his choices, the roster had no appeal.

Just thought I'd post this since we had a lot of discussions about why the Chiefs never got a face to face.

This si the NFL and I think most teams are in the playing field every year. You never know how thnigs will turn out. Injuries, a call here or there. I won't say having a legit QB improves your odds but I think this division is wide open this year.

The Colts were picked for the SB most every year. Made it twice. Manning went 1-1.

Those teams were infinitely more talented than this Denver team.

I don't think the addition of a 36 year old Manning who hasn't played in almost two years puts Denver in the playing field for a SB at all.

we are still 6 months away from the season and lots of things can happen but Manning immediately makes the Broncos better and the Broncos went 8-8 last year and won a playoff game, so how bad is this team? Obviously Manning thinks it's pretty good.

Manning said something in his press conference a couple times that I thought was interesting and could have been in relation to KC.

He said he saw some teams as business first/football second and that the biggest thing about Denver was their commitment to winning and being football first/business second ALL THE WAY DOWN FROM THE OWNER.

Even I can't say that Clark is a football first guy.

He is absolutely a business first type owner.

If Manning were picking teams based on talent, he wouldn't have talked to the Titans or Broncos. He would have talked to the Chiefs and 9ers. Esp the 9ers, who with him, would have a great shot at a title. The donks? Not so much.

I don't think Manning and Harbaugh are a good match. Harbaugh wants full control of the offense and Manning wants flexibility to make audibles and changes. I think Fox has demonstrated that he is able to adapt the offense to the QB's style (see Tebow).

It came down to who Manning was most comfortable with and I think Elway and Fox has a lot to do with that.

You saw how good the Colts were without Manning. They never had a great defense and Manning made everyone look better on offense

At this point i honestly dont care why he ruled out KC, all i want to know is how Romeo plans to crush him 5 times a game.

In spite of Cassel, this should be a very exciting team, particularly the defense.

Manning is now just a target to take shots at.

Peyton has been reading my posts. It is quite obvious Clark and his entire family don't care about winning near as much as they do about making money.

They still had Wayne and Clark and 2 of the best pass rushing DE's in the league. This year they looked like a team with a rookie QB.
